Hi everyone,

My name is Rafa and I’m the new Community Manager here in the ChromeOS Customer Community!

Alongside @Lynda and the ChromeOS Community Team, I’m here to help keep this a welcoming and useful space, as well as to support you with questions, suggestions, or requests whenever needed.

A few things about me:

  • I have 3+ years of experience in community management and have worked closely with technical teams as a project and account manager

  • I’m passionate about music (both listening to it and making it)

  • I’m into sports and outdoor activities — I cycle and play football every week

  • I enjoy all things creative, from photography and films to installation art and creative coding

  • I’m based in the UK 🇬🇧

If you’d like to, feel free to share a bit about yourself in the comments, such as:

  • where you’re based

  • the industry you work in

  • hobbies or interests outside of work

Looking forward to getting to know you all.

Speak soon,
Rafa

    Hi Rafa!

I'm Kristen, and I come to you as a PE from the Chrome US team.  Yes, I am based in the US and have been working with the Chrome team since 2022.  I'm also a Fitbit PE and have been volunteering with them since 2016 (long before the Google acquisition and we were known as the Community Council).  I love being a part of Google (currently serving as a PE for 17+ products) that I got inspired to make a career change (after spending 20 years in senior care as an Activity Director/Life Enrichment and 10 years prior to that as an Early Childhood Educator) and go for my Master's Degree in Digital Learning so I can teach any age group.  I just started this past Fall and am due to graduate in 2027.

With that came an entire career change and I am now a Paraeducator/Classroom Assistant in middle school (Grades 6-8).

I am a very proud Auntie (I have a niece and a nephew) who is about to go on her 41st cruise and is taking said niece and nephew with her (it will be my niece's 5th cruise and my nephew's 1st).  I love to play my Ukulele and have even played for my Mayor a few times.  I love to sing and used to sing competitively in school.  I love to act as well, but sadly the stars haven't aligned for auditions.  I'm a YouTube Creator for cruising, and my channel is CruisingWithKristen.  I love doing Yoga (even though I'm not coordinated at all!).  I'm bilingual in American Sign Language and English.  I love to Line Dance, with my current favorites being "Cotton Eyed Joe", "Fireball", "Cupid Shuffle", and "Bad Habits".  I'm also a Dyslexic who loves to read (who would have thought that!) but never gets time to read.

    Hi Kristen!

Thanks so much for such a thoughtful introduction — it was great to read about both your professional background and all your interests outside of work.

It’s great to hear that you’re a PE with the Chrome US team, and congrats on starting your Master’s in Digital Learning 👏
I’ve worked briefly in education in the past and know how rewarding (and impactful) that space can be, so wishing you all the best with your studies.

    And wow — 41 cruises! That's really impressive 🛳️
It’s lovely that you’ve been able to share that passion with your niece, and now your nephew too — I hope he enjoys his first cruise. With that experience, it makes perfect sense that you’d want to share it with others through your YouTube channel. Are there any cruises or destinations that stand out as favourites for you?

It’s also really cool that you sing and play the ukulele — and that you’ve even performed for your mayor! I sing a bit myself, and when it comes to strings I tend to stick to the electric guitar, albeit I’ve also just started learning the bass 🎸

By the way, I love to dance but never tried line dancing, it definitely looks like a lot of fun — maybe one day!

I really like Royal Caribbean's private island "Perfect Day Cocoa Cay" in The Bahamas. It's an entire island, complete with ziplines, a water park (the standout is Daredevil's Peak, the tallest waterslide in The Caribbean, standing at 135 feet tall, 764 feet of tube, and the entire ride is 35 seconds long. There's a Hot Air Balloon, which goes up 450 high, offering the highest vantage point in The Bahamas.

For those that want something more chill, Oasis Lagoon is the largest freshwater pool in The Caribbean. It's about 33,000 square feet.

There's also 7 different free beaches, complete with tram service all over the island. The Oasis Lagoon is also free, with the other attractions having an extra charge.

There's also a Straw Market for those shop-aholics.

For the kiddos, there's a free Splash Pad, complete with waterslides. There's an Adults Only area too for an extra charge.

Food is basically free on the island, and both your Internet and Drink Packages work.
