Hi all, hope you’re well. I was wondering are there any ways to add devices to Google ZTE (Zero-Touch Enrollment) if the vendor can't / refused to do it?

Q. Why do the vendor refused to do it?

A. Some vendors like Officeworks in Australia does not appear in the Google ZTE resellers list.

Q. Why don’t you tell the vendor they need to do the right thing / register with Google?

A. Good luck with that……(thank you for your feedback, you won’t hear back from us anytime soon……)

We also have other none Samsung Android devices purchased from retailers that’s not in the Google ZTE reseller list. With Samsung devices, we use KME (Knox Mobile Enrolment) and it works well. But for non-Samsung devices, we don’t have many options as far as I know. I’m happy to be proven wrong though 😂

Q. Have you tried to ask other vendors (in the reseller list) to add the device to Google ZTE for you?

A. Yes I  have tried and it does work, but we don’t want to do this as it’s not their responsibility.

Q. Maybe you should purchase your Android devices from authorised resellers?

A. I would! But unfortunately not everyone follows the rules……

They most likely refuse it, if they haven’t sold them themselves.
If they refuse to do that even they sold them to you, they might not be able to (not listed as reseller also indicates that they are originally maybe not verified by google to do so or lost their verification).

So, if you don’t have signed a selling contract with them where uploading to the ZTP is part of (if it’S non-Samsung device), then you can only enroll them using other methods and next time go through a certified trusted reseller (and put ZTP in the contract so if they don’t do it, you just step back from the contract).

Thanks for your quick response Moombas! I was hoping there were other clever ways to do this in 2026 😂

The clever way is to ensure with a single device that they can upload them and buy afterwards and the smartest way is, if possible, make a contract which includes this service, so you can point to that or send devices back and go to another reseller.

But yet we never had issues 🤞 yet with any listed reseller.
