how to delete esim on company-owned device

For the Work profile on company owned device mode, when I used iccid to delete esim, my device refused due to permission issues. Is there any solution

    I am using Google's DPC, but when I initiate the remove_ esim command, I still cannot succeed. The error displayed in the log is this, and the demonstration is in copy mode

    In cope mode, when calling the remove esim command and used iccid to delete esim,  but encountered a permission error on the device and eSIM was not deleted. My device is Pixel 6 Pro, Android version 16, and can be deleted normally by calling the command in fully managed mode, but it does not work in scope mode. The log shows 4667 19263 E EuicController: No permissions to delete subscription: 1.Has anyone encountered the same problem and how should it be resolved？

    No one might answered it as no one has an answer for you and details can be added with a new comment (as there’s no other comments yet, it won’t be “hidden”) or ask a CM to edit your initial post. And a new comment would it also push upwards. Also your topic seem more likely a topic for the partner portal, not the consumer area as this is handled by the EMM/MDM normally.

    But double posting is something which is not well seen in any web community.

     

    On side: Did you check the documentation (https://source.android.com/docs/core/connect/esim-overview) for relevant permissions in your deployment?

    Thanks ​@Moombas Moombas, really appreciate you pointing ​@gaoyu1 in the right direction here, and for sharing that eSIM documentation link too, it's a useful one to have to hand.
     

    ​@gaoyu1, thanks for adding all the extra detail and the log snippet, that's really helpful context. I've gone ahead and merged your two topics together so everything's in one place now and easier for people to follow.
     

    As Moombas says, whilst we're always happy to chat things through here, the Android Enterprise Customer Community isn't always going to be the right place to land on a definitive answer, especially for something that might sit quite deep in the platform or permissions layer like this.

    So as a general rule of thumb, the first port of call is usually the relevant documentation (the eSIM page Moombas linked is a good starting point), and then if that doesn't get you any further, raising it as a support request with your MDM/EMM supplier so they can dig into it properly and escalate if it turns out to be a platform issue.
     

    A couple of questions from us:

    • Which EMM/MDM platform are you using to issue the remove eSIM command?
    • Has this been tested on any other devices, or is it just the one Pixel 6 Pro so far?
