Question

Intune Managed Google Play Store Risk

Wondering if anyone has come across a way to restore an "app collection" in the Managed Google Play Store?

I would like to be able to take a back up and restore the collection should it be deleted in error. On a shared tenant basis and having only 1 account for the MGPS is something we need to have steps in place for.

Hey,

No, but it would be a great idea we can save the configuration !

@Lizzie what do you think about that ?

Best regards

With the EMM API, something like this might have been achievable. But on the one hand, as a cloud customer, you won't have direct API access for your environment. Furthermore, I would not recommend deviating from the iFrame under any circumstances.

I like the idea of importing/exporting Google Play Collections. 😄

Especially with larger collections, I would export the collection temporarily, add a new app at the end and then import it again. Especially with large collections, you might have to click a lot to get an rather unimportant app to the end.

Import/export would fit in well with edit, delete and duplicate.

I work on a shared Intune tenant environment, because there is only 1 Google Play connector we can only have 1 Google play account for the entire tenant. Admins can only see their own info, except for in the Google Play store, in which case they see all the apps everyone has approved. There are a lot of apps in the App collection and anyone can add or take away from it, even delete it.
Having the ability to back the collection up or restore it (import export) would be highly useful for us

Thanks @Lizzie @Alex_Muc

I use collections to make our private store more effective. People don't have to search the Apps, They look the collection about their job and install all Apps they need.

So if an admin make a mistake and delete one or all collections, i would be unwell. Like Alex, i like the idea to importing/exporting Google Play Collections. The way to make easier the add of an apps and at the good place will be really great.

I've never really used collections before, but reading this and seeing Alex's response makes it sound like a usefull option. And I could see the benefits of being able to create and export for this.

Something new on the to do list, thanks haha!
