Question

Preferred Password / Passkey / Autofill Missing Policy

Since the installation of Android 15, I'm now unable to set a preferred Passkey / Password service on the phone, and it says its being blocked by an IT policy, contact an admin.

Being the admin, and reviewing setting multiple times, there is no policy set that comes close to this.  Is there a way to allow this to be used in an enterprise, or is there no fix and it's a hidden policy?

I'm also seeing this problem since Android 15. Backup is also not available for me either. I wonder if the two things are related.

I've spent some time on a call to Google Support and they suggested the feature is only available for iOS, and weren't able to tell me why it stopped working in Android 15.

I saw https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/385775377 has been raised too - but no response on that yet. @Lizzie anything you can do to emphasise the importance of getting this fixed would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Ed

Hey @Lizzie, is there anything you can do to help get this issue resolved?

It's really disappointing that we can't use autofill for third party password managers for Android 15.

Is there any update for this? I'm unable to use Passkeys from password manager on my Work Profile because of this issue for 6 months now. To log in to services which require Passkey I have to use another device to scan a QR code, which is extremely inconvenient.

This issue continues to impact the rollout of GEM for BYOD devices in our org.

We've paused the rollout because of this, as device manufacturers are pushing many BYOD to Android 15. When is this going to be fixed in GEM? @Lizzie
