[Survey] Share your feedback on the Android Enterprise Solutions Directory

Hello everyone,

I hope you are doing well.

We're looking for feedback on a primary Android Enterprise customer resource, the Android Enterprise Solutions Directory. For those of you who haven’t heard of this before, this is designed to be your go-to place for discovering and selecting the right devices, EMMs, resellers, and mobility consulting services that align with your organisation's needs. I know many of you here in the community use, or have used, the Solutions Directory.

To ensure the Solutions Directory continues to evolve and serve you best, we’d love your feedback and suggestions. We've put together a survey, and your responses will directly inform our ongoing work to enhance the platform.

Your feedback is important in helping us understand what works well, what could be improved, and what new features would make it even more useful.

hi Lizzie!

I've been busy with this behind the scenes with ben as well haha, i'm happy to see that some things have allready changed. Thanks for that.

I've recieved a partner news letter this week with a link to an archived devices page, but that's only accissble for device partners. It would be nice to have an archived page or label for eol / eos devices. If a customer has device X i would like to see if it ever was in AER, and what its status is.

I'll add it to the survey as well!

Damn completely forgotten about that when i did this -.-

And i would even go a step further:

To have 4 sections:

AER certified
AER certification ongoing (+estimated time if possible)
ran out of AER certification (because of age)
canceled AER certification (+reason)

So you can see actual devices which are certified, devices are worked on (so no request to Google/manufacturer needed), those which are already too old to be actually certified but had it in the past as you wrote here and then those where certification started but stopped for whatever reason.

I really like this idea of adding a canceled version. This makes the AER badge worth something again, in addition to what @BenCowell posted about making sure AER badge means something.

OEM's can stand out by achieving this status, but if they don't put in the effort, the should be able to loose the AER certification.

Thanks @Michel and @Moombas - so really interesting points here and it's great to hear you would like to see more development around AER.

Do you find this is a key measure for you when deciding/validating devices?

Also, regarding your 'sections' mention here Moombas, just thinking of the user journey here, would you normally expect to come with a device in mind and then search for the device and see this information appear or would you have dedicated areas to either narrow down or scroll through?

First of all, it's not always about choosing but sometimes about support as well.

I mean if someone tells he/she has issues and you see device is AER (or even not), it may help in further support to what to look for in advance.

And each section i would expect to look like it does right now with the filtering which should be good enough.

Only maybe the one with the ones ongoing on certification maybe a "simple" list (maybe exportable) could be nice, especially for resellers maybe.

I would love the ability to export the device list.

Don't get me wrong the way you display the information is great but I needed to take our current list of devices and compare it to what is on the ESD and it would have been nice to have that export.

Unfortunately I cannot fill out the survey because its being blocked by my company.

Hey Lizzie, I think it's just in a really, really bad state - if alphabets corporate goal is to make information useful & easily accessible, the solutions directory is neither.

Bad OEMs should be held to account and the AER stamp should mean something. Security cadence and duration being shared by OEMs was introduced in AER - and AER needs to remain something important.

I feel I've driven enough traction to how bad and 'careless' the world has been (given my research shared with Mike B).

What is the point of 'android enterprise recommended'?

Honestly, I don't use it. In our company, the Cyber teams' positions are very strict regarding the majority of Android hardware manufacturers, so we know what to look for and leave the rest.
I saw this site more as a showcase for the Android Enterprise solution. The real support is here on this forum.
