Allow my device to install other apps and uninstall
Hi
Thanks for getting in touch!
Could you confirm whether the device (or the Google Account signed into it) is managed by an organization, such as a school or employer?
When a Chromebook is managed by an organization, the IT administrator sets policies that determine which apps and extensions can be installed, blocked, or removed to protect security and compliance.
Check device management: Click the time in the bottom-right corner of your screen to open the quick settings panel. If you see a building icon or a message stating "Managed," your device is under administrative control.
Check account policies: Open Chrome and navigate to chrome://policy. This will show you any active security policies enforced on your session.
If your device or account is managed, Google support and community members cannot modify or override these restrictions. You will need to contact the IT Administrator or helpdesk of the organization that owns or manages the device/account to request permissions to install or uninstall specific apps.
For more information, feel free to review the official Google Help Center guide on Managed Chromebook devices.
