[Android Enterprise] AMAPI Quota Requests: What You Need to Know

Hi everyone,

We've seen a few threads pop up recently from potential partners or developers looking for help with Android Management API (AMAPI) device quota requests. It is understandable that you would like to get more information on this, and see the Customer Community as a way to do this, however in order to ensure that the community remains a useful resource for customers setting up and managing Android devices, plus to hopefully direct you towards the information you need, we’ve provided some additional guidance on this areas below:

For context, all initial AMAPI quota requests go through a compliance review in line with our Permissible Usage Policies. That process sits entirely with the internal policy team.

As a result of this, here are a few things worth knowing:

I’ve hit the AMAPI quota level and I’m not sure where to request an increase?

  • There's one dedicated supported channel for developers. If you're a developer looking for support on a quota request, this form is the right place to go.
  • Partners, you have a separate route. If you're part of the Android Enterprise Partner Program, the Partner Escalation Desk (via the Partner Portal) is the right place to reach out, and can assist you far more effectively than posting in the customer community.

Can the customer community team help with these appeals?

  • The Customer community can't assist with quota requests. Even though our team here would like to help you as much as possible, this is not something our team here has visibility into, so we're genuinely not able to help. Please note this also includes assistance with reviews, follow-ups, or appeals.

Can I appeal via the customer community if my request has been denied?

  • Decisions are final. Unfortunately, if a quota request has been declined, that decision can't be overturned or reopened through the community. If you have follow-up questions, please reach out to our team via this form.

As we are getting quite a few posts about this here in the customer community, going forward, any threads related to denied quota requests, appeals, or follow-ups will be locked and redirected here.

Although, we acknowledge that this guidance may not be the outcome you are looking for, the channels mentioned above, as the only way to get a response on your partner/developer questions.

Thanks for your time.
