Hello everyone,

I hope you are well.

As some of you already know, we have a slight change in the community team. We have recently bid farewell to Emilie and wish her the very best in her future endeavors.

On a brighter note, I wanted to introduce our new Community Manager, Kirk. I know he is eager to get to know everyone, so please join me in giving him a warm welcome to the community. 👏👏👏

Alongside me, you will see @Kirk around the community, especially within the Android Enterprise area. If you have any questions or simply want to say hello, feel free to @ mention or DM either of us.

Thanks so much,

Lizzie

    Hey folks,

My name is Kirk and I'm thrilled to be joining as your new Community Manager here in the Android Enterprise Customer Community!

Big thanks to @Lizzie for the intro and doing a stellar job captaining the ship. I’ll be joining her going forward to help keep this space as handy, welcoming, and (fingers crossed) entertaining as possible. I'm excited to be part of the team.

    A little about me:

    • I've been working in community management for 10+ years, though my background is a little different: I come from the world of video games, where I've worked on everything from World of Warcraft to the savory delight that is I am Bread 🍞. Enterprise tech is a new thing for me but I'm genuinely excited to be here.
    • I'm a massive music nerd in my spare time; I play piano and attempt to sing in a few bands.
    • I call the UK home, and here I'm outnumbered by two fat, elderly dogs who are fully convinced they run the household. They're probably right.
    • I've been obsessed with tech since I was a kid, I was always tinkering with hardware or writing terrible code and pretending it was intentional.

So while Android Enterprise is a shift from my usual stomping grounds, the interest in tech and community is very much the same.

Since i’m the new kid on the block I’d like to get to know you all too. Drop a comment and tell me:

    • 🌍 Where in the world are you based?
    • 💼 What's your role or industry?
    • 🎮 / 🎵 / 🐕 Hobbies or interests outside of work?
    • 📱 A piece of ‘old’ tech you’d love to see a revival of or modernised?

Looking forward to getting to know you all and being part of this community.

    Speak soon,

    Kirk

    Hi Kirk,

need to mention your name will probably pop up some (not bad meant) jokes ;)

I’m from northern part of Germany and working for JYSK SE responsible for all our mobiles out in our stores.

I played WoW a long time but was never active in the (website) community and quitted with my wife after Pandaria because the entire community shifted to a bad shape in my opinion (wish the good old days with 40-man raids back *dream*). But now because of other private reasons only gaming a bit, depending of time left after taking care of family, dog and house.

I’m also a tech guy and responsible always when someone has trouble with something.

A piece of old tech i like a revival of, would be smart phones with physical keypads (i’m way faster with those in typing).

    Hey Moombas!

    Great to meet you.

Oh yes, I think I’m pretty used to any and all Star Trek references at this point, but you could surprise me!

Nice to see you enjoyed WoW, you lasted longer than I did so congrats (I think) there. I can totally relate to having adult responsibilities take over though, I’ve just purchased by first house and I’m learning a lot.

Good choice, I do kind of fondly remember press numbers multiple times to get the letter I wanted. 😂
