Hey everyone,

We're pleased to announce a brand new initiative built exclusively for you, the members of the Android Enterprise Customer Community: Android Enterprise Insiders!

What is the Android Enterprise Insiders Program?
In short, it’s your opportunity to get hands on with Android Enterprise features before they are generally available or when they are hot off the press.

As an Insider, you will:

  • Get hands on with new functionality.
  • Share your feedback to help us identify improvements to the feature or documentation.
  • Collaborate with your peers, exploring the new features of Android device management.

Why Are We Launching This Program?
You are the experts on the front lines, managing mobility for your organizations every single day. Your insights and real world experience are invaluable. We want to build a stronger partnership with you and create a direct channel for your feedback on specific features.

The Android Enterprise Insiders program is our way of moving beyond traditional feedback collection. It’s a dedicated board within the Customer Community designed to give you early access to new features and a seat at the table as we refine them. Together, we can ensure that the future of Android Enterprise is powerful, practical, and perfectly suited to your needs.

What Can You Expect?
In early September we’ll be launching a dedicated space right here in the community for our Insiders. Here’s a high-level look at how it will work:

Access to Insiders: Once you are an Insider you will have access to a dedicated Insiders discussion area, which will act as your home for the programme and you can meet other members there.

Apply for Initiatives: When a new feature is ready for testing, we’ll post about the opportunity. You can then express interest to participate in that specific initiative.

Get Hands On: Approved applicants will be granted access to a private project area. There, you'll find everything you need to get started, including onboarding guides and testing instructions. Please note: Depending on the feature, an NDA may be required.

Share Your Voice: You can create posts to share feedback and report issues. We may also host office hours and other online sessions to discuss the features in more detail.

Who Is This For?
We're looking for any IT admin who manages an Android Enterprise deployment. While the overall program is open to everyone, specific testing opportunities may have certain requirements (e.g. using a particular EMM partner, a specific device type, or enrolment method).

This is why keeping your community profile up-to-date is important! It will help us match you with the Insider opportunities that are most relevant to your deployment and interests.

Ready to Become an Insider? Here’s how to get started

  • Update your community profile! Critically, we need your Android Enterprise Org ID. This is the most important step to ensure we can invite you to relevant programs down the line.
  • Like or comment on this post. This way we’ll know you're interested in participating.

We hope this sounds like an exciting initiative and thank you for being a part of this community, we look forward to further collaborating with you!

    VERY Interested.

Not sure if it matters but I have ~150 Org Ids across all of the different environments I manage. I can put an Org Id from one of my test EMM environments but I don't think that's going to be representative of the scale of environments that I interact with.

To echo Matt, I have all the EMMs across a bajillion orgIDs, so for me it'd be easier to decline some explicitly than opt for an invite based on a limited input in the profile.

Very interested in it, OrgId already in profile.

One question just coming up in my mind. We use an MDM, do these new functionalities depend on MDM able to support those new features as well in order to use them?

Great to hear your responses to AE Insiders @mattdermody, @jasonbayton, @Moombas

Regarding your question Moombas, each project will be different, and on the whole we hope that anyone who is an Insider and is interested in the feature will be able to test it. But, some projects may be more suited to specific setups for testing/roll-out and so this might be EMM/MDM specific. These requirement details will be outline when the project is announced in the Insiders area.

Hopefully that helpful, but feel free to ask more questions.

    Thanks,

    Lizzie

Is Org ID something thats viewable for other members of this community or only for Google, it isn´t something we want to share to everyone.

You can check it yourself ;)

Open for ex. my profile and I'm pretty sure you won't find mine there and i would wonder if something like that is not private.

HI, I am very interested. But looks like if we select the EMM type as Other the enterprise ID is visible to others. Is that correct?

    Hey @Prathik,

Great to hear you are interested in this. On the display of your org ID on the community, if you look at your own profile, you will be able to see this information - if you look at another members' profile even when they have selected their EMM as 'Other' you should not be able to see the org ID only their EMM. I've double-checked this and I am unable to see this information.

Can I check if you were looking at other members' profiles or just your own?

    Thanks so much,

    Lizzie

    Hello everyone,

I'm pleased to say the new Android Enterprise Insiders area here in the Customer Community is now live 🎉.

'Insiders' has now been added to our community header, so you should all see this. When you have been approved for the group, you will also be able to see a members-only area called 'Insiders home'.

The first project has been added by @JordanOC  - so if you have access please go and let us know if you'd like to join this one.

If you are interested in becoming an Insider, please continue to reply in this thread and we will be in touch - we feel this will be a great area for us to come together as a community and try-out, test and adopt new features in a supportive environment. This is a new program, so we would love to shape this together with you.

If you have any questions please do let me know, I'm happy to help.

    Thanks so much,

    Lizzie

Just to "This is why keeping your community profile up-to-date is important! It will help us match you with the Insider opportunities that are most relevant to your deployment and interests.":

How about people who are using multiple MDM's as you can choose only one in the profile right now? Maybe change it to checkbox to give others (if they work with multiple ones) the possibility to show that there as well and get chosen for relevant topics.

This is a great point @Moombas, this is a little restricted at the moment. When we implemented this the EMM/MDM question is really to help with problem solving ie. a solution may work in a different way on one EMM to another - but Insiders is a different use case, so definitely something to think about how this can evolve.

I'd say in the meantime though, this is really to help us match us potential projects - the project requirements will be shown in the overview before joining, so you can alway highlight if you use multi-partners to us directly.

This make me think it would be cool to have a 'feedback' post in Insiders, around these types of points. Thanks so much for this. 😀

Also like to be added, as others I used an ORG ID  of our test environment, manage different customer environments..
