Hello everyone, A great question by @GMenzies came up in the community the other day regarding Google system updates and the features around managing the policies for devices enrolled using Android Enterprise. It's an interesting discussion point and in many organisations there are a lot of things to weigh up when updating devices. I thought it would be great to have a poll on this to see which frequency you have adopted in your company. Please add any additional comments you have in this topic. Hello, I am having trouble accessing certain policies on my android management API since they appear to be unavailable or inaccessible. Although I've looked through the official literature and settings, I haven't been successful in solving the problem.I'm specifically searching for information on E-mail,Incoming E-mail , Outgoing E-mail,Exchange Active Sync,Asset tag Information, SCEP, Web shortcuts,Web content filter,Access point name. It appears that access to the availability of this policy through my enterprises policies is restricted. If someone could give me instructions on how to access or enable this policy, I would be very grateful. Please share your experiences or insights if you have come across something similar. Thanks!
Hello, I have several cell phones from the Chinese brand Doogee and what I can see is that the brand Doogee has not updated its Android operating system for a long time, thus becoming obsolete because it is parked on Android 12 without forecasts for updates to 13 and I would like to know next to Android what can be done related to this case as I am afraid of future compatibility problems so I ask for help from the community and thank you very much
1. Device initially set up using afw#setup to register on Intune without Google account2. Device secured with passcode and given to user3. User has left, without wiping the device and passcode unknown4. Wiped the device via recovery mode5. Setting device up again for new user, now being asked to Very your account We do not know the @android-for-work.gserviceaccount.com account so we cannot get back into the device, essentially bricking it. How do we go about verifying the account?
Hi, I entered our company for Partner Application (Device Reseller Program). I now got a mail from Android Enterprise community team (No Reply) <ae-community-norep@google.com> asking for more information. How can I send this in to a no-reply mailbox? Can anyone tell me how to get in touch with Android Enterprise Community Team screening my application? Thanks,Robert
Hi All, We have registered Android EMM with Managed Play Account (gmail) in Workspace ONE. We use Google Workspace for Google apps like email, calendar etc. I need to allow only adding our domain (mycompany.com) in Google Apps inside Work Profile. Is this possible? If yes, please guide me. PS: We are not registering Android EMM with Google Workspace because the email domain is different from our IDP (Okta). Thanks.
Hi,does anyone know if there's a possibility to place a feature request to Google regarding Zero-Touch-Portal?I wanted to ask if there's plaanned at any point to provide possibility to implement AD authentication to the portal.
Hello everyone, As in most roles within a company if you are oversee an area you are likely to receive questions from colleagues and other employees. This got me thinking, for those of you who are managing devices and security, what would you say are the most frequent types of questions you receive? Are there any questions you find difficult to answer or would like more information to provide them with? Or perhaps you very infrequently received question. 😀 As an example, perhaps you receive questions on why only certain apps are available in the work profile, how to update the device or can I use my own mobile? Would love to hear from you, please reply in the comments below. Thank you, Lizzie
A client is not sure if they want to use COPE or COBO so the director would like to know which bigger companies use COPE and orient towards them. Most of the companies shown on https://www.android.com/enterprise/customers/ seem to use COBO but it is not stated directly. Is there an overview of companies using COPE? Thanks!
Hello community, I am trying to install a Certificate Authority on android devices via work profiles. The devices have been enrolled via Android Management API, and the policy is applied on devices without any problems (as reported by Android Management API). I used the openNetworkConfiguration field on the policy as followed : "openNetworkConfiguration": { "Type": "UnencryptedConfiguration", "NetworkConfigurations": [], "Certificates": [ { "GUID": "company-certificate-authority-19201", "Type": "Authority", "X509": "MIIF... (base64 encoded DER certificate authority)", "TrustBits": ["Web"] } ] } Nevertheless, this do not seem to work. I checked in the phone settings > certificate authorities and there is no certificate authority on the work profile. When I try to visit a website with a certificate signed by the aforementionned CA, I
Hello world! I'm managing some devices through Android Management as device owner, in kiosk mode, running an app I developed in Flutter. I need to list all nearby wifi connections and I succeeded using a specific library, but when I try to connect and save the network on the device It fails: in development mode I get the opening of a system modal for saving the network instances, while in Kiosk mode it totally doesn't work. Any ideas?
Dear Android Community,I am currently working on an Android application where I need to fetch the IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) number programmatically. However, I am facing some challenges in implementing this functionality, especially with regards to the latest Android versions and privacy considerations.I am reaching out to seek your expertise and guidance on the best practices to fetch the IMEI number in compliance with the Android security standards. I want to ensure that my application adheres to all the necessary permissions and privacy policies to access this sensitive information. If you have any relevant resources, code examples, or tips on how to retrieve the IMEI number programmatically in Android, I would be extremely grateful for your support.
I have been following google docs on editing Intune QR code to include WIFI details to auto connect to wifi during enrollment based on the details i have updated the QR code and then using Notepad++ Plugin to generate QR Code with the edited details. When i scan to enroll it gives me error: Wrong QR Code. I have repalced token and checksun details for security purposes here .{"qrCodeContent": {"android.app.extra.PROVISIONING_DEVICE_ADMIN_COMPONENT_NAME": "com.google.android.apps.work.clouddpc/.receivers.CloudDeviceAdminReceiver","android.app.extra.PROVISIONING_DEVICE_ADMIN_SIGNATURE_CHECKSUM": "XXXXX","android.app.extra.PROVISIONING_DEVICE_ADMIN_PACKAGE_DOWNLOAD_LOCATION": "https://play.google.com/managed/downloadManagingApp?identifier=setup","android.app.extra.PROVISIONING_WIFI_PASSWORD": "XXX","android.app.extra.PROVISIONING_WIFI_SECURITY_TYPE": "WPA","android.app.extra.PROVISIONING_WIFI_SSID": "FlatNetwork","android.app.extra.PROVISIONING_ADMIN_EXTRAS_BUNDLE": {"com.google.and
Hi All, Just looking to see how you are all managing the public apps you have approved into your UEMs from Managed Google Play. At the moment I am aware of two potential pain points that my team don't have a solution for: Apps that are approved to UEM but no longer published to or available in Play, which has impacted us a few times in the past as we haven't been able to proactively identify and find a replacement product. Apps that are approved but don't meet the minimum SDK API for Android (admittedly an anticipated problem with the Android 14 change but we have no current way to be proactive on this either)We currently have over 80 public apps approved for various roles in our organization so keeping on top on them is a challenge, especially as we can only see a manual approach just wondering if anyone has any particular recommendations before I set the RPA team on it to look at a) does the URL still resolve and b) what is the "requires Android" version to try an
Hello everyone, The way you use your device for work is personal to you; your way of working and also the needs of your work. Work profile is a management type for Android devices that allow you to separate work and personal data. Do you use work profile on your device? Perhaps this is something you are not able to have on your device or you haven't heard of the feature before or yes, you use it all the time! Please fill out the poll and share a bit more context by adding a comment below. Loading… Looking forward to hearing your responses. (If you are now hooked on polls now, explore here!)

Why do we need AMAPI SDK ? 2. I have installed the apk given in github ( https://github.com/googlesamples/amapi ) Do I need to change anything in there? if yes, what is it? What is command Id ? where can I see the list of command Ids. kindly help. regards,Umesh kumar mishra
Hi All, We have been making good use of App Config Feedback with Knox Service Plugin but find it unusual that Chrome doesn't seem to offer the feature despite coming from the Google stable. As Chrome has extensive policy options in app config - are there any plan to add the feeback channel to the product (or are we missing something in how we have set it up?)
So I have these android 11 tablet devices with no camera and no nfc and I am trying to enroll the device under android management so we can push the singular app we need via managed google play and silently update said device when needed . 1) Do I have to provision the device under fully managed in order to use it in kiosk mode?2) How do I do this with no camera or NFC?
Factory Reset Protection / persistence is a powerful tool but it does not yet feel complete, and it is quite frustrating and potentially dangerous in its current state. It is not always apparent whether any given device is persistently linked using ZeroTouch, Intune or even Google Account FRP. While these tools are available to some, they are not a financially viable option for everyone, especially for consumers. There may be documentation describing the intimate intricacies of how all of these tools work and when/where they leave signs of their presence, but I cannot find it. I have not found a PSA from google for consumers saying "if you buy a second hand phone, check x, y and z to make sure it is not locked, otherwise someone can potentially remotely brick it."As a small company we have various scenarios where we provide phones to employees and also distribute loan/event devices for other small-medium companies, and don't necessarily have the ability to invest in enterprise-grade to
Hi all, as issues regarding Zero-Touch QR's are popping up very often, i'm thinking about to provide my QR Generator (spezified for Zero-Touch). What i really want to know is, if there's a need for that or how do you think about it? I'm sure it still covers not all possible (default) options (like usage of certificate for wifi when using EAP) but this should be coverable later (also specific alignment could be possible if needed). Current state is: PROVISIONING_DEVICE_ADMIN_SIGNATURE_CHECKSUM PROVISIONING_DEVICE_ADMIN_COMPONENT_NAME PROVISIONING_DEVICE_ADMIN_PACKAGE_DOWNLOAD_LOCATION PROVISIONING_SKIP_ENCRYPTION PROVISIONING_LOCALE (provide a | seperated list to choose from if you need) PROVISIONING_LEAVE_ALL_SYSTEM_APPS_ENABLED PROVISIONING_TIME_ZONE (provide a | seperated list to choose from if you need) PROVISIONING_WIFI_SECURITY_TYPE PROVISIONING_WIFI_SSID PROVISIONING_WIFI_PASSWORD PROVISIONING_WIFI_PROXY_HOST PROVISIONING_WIFI_PROXY_PORT PROVISIONING_WIFI_PROXY_BYPAS
Hello everyone, I don't want to start getting a reputation for asking tricky questions, (check out my last question here), so today I thought I would broaden it out a little! 😃 Most people who have found there way to our community here are using Android (in a huge variety of ways) and so I wanted to ask you what's your favourite feature? This could be Android Enterprise/work specific or Android in general (feel free to add two if you can't decide). I'll go first and I'm going to add two! 1. Android Enterprise: I'm going to say the Work profile feature on my BYOD. I'm still working out the best work/life balance, but having the option to pause my work apps and then turn them back on as soon as I need them, extremely handy. Especially if I'm dashing for a train and I leave an open question on my gchat function to a colleague, I can easily carry that on! 2. Android: I'm a big fan of music, so I'm going to say the ability to identify a song! Gone are the days
