Google Zero Touch Portal - Recover account?

Hi there,

New to the Android community!

I have a problem where my predecessor created an account for the Google Zero Touch portal and used his company phone number for MFA (only method). The phone number is long gone from the company and can’t be used anymore. Is there any chance to recover the account? I know the email and password!

If there is not possibility, what steps do I need to do to set up a new one? We have most resellers listed so I believe I I can ask them to change org id. But what about the currently registered devices?

Hi @weberda

Unfortunately none of the methods in the first link have been configured, so there is no possibility to use any of them to recover the account. As mentioned there is only one MFA method set up which is text message to a phone number that can no longer be used.

The other link is similar but we are not a partner and we do not have any access at all to the portal at the moment. We only have one account (that I am aware of) which should have the owner role.

Hi,

Is the mailadres used for zero touch a corporate account (as in not a @gmail, @live etc account)?

If so, you could try to get the old coworkers address attached as an alias to an active mailbox and see if you can get a recovery email or something like that.

Do you have an Android reseller as partner? If so, they can file a support ticket on your behalf.

Hi @Michel,

The mail address is a corporate account and is dedicated to Zero Touch only, so it is not an “personal employee account”, the only thing that is tied to my old coworker is his mobile phone number which was used on the dedicated corporate account for Zero Touch.

As mentioned I know the mail address and the password of the Google Zero Touch account.

I am not sure if we have an Android reseller or partner.. I will have to check that!

Ah okay, then the best next step would be via a partner. If you don't have one, you could always look at the Android Enterprise directory to find one. Android Business Device Solutions Directory - Android Enterprise - Resellers
