Hello, We are trying to create an admin account through the Microsoft (itune) "enrollment android device" platform. We create our profile and in the last step a page with the following text appears"We've detected unusual activity on the account you're trying to access. Follow the instructions below to continue". And this is where the trouble begins:We tried different phone numbers of our colleagues, got a new sim card and always the same message"This phone number has already been used too many times for verification"How is it possible to use a sim card with a brand-new number or a card of people who have a one google registration. (for example my grandmother :D) Nothing works! We also created different emails with our domain through Microsoft admin center, always the result is the same:"We've detected unusual activity on the account you're trying to access. Follow the instructions below to continue".Enter the phone number:"This phone number has already been used too many
Hey guys I have developed an app which can turn on and turn off bluetooth as well as change some sound settings of the device. Toggling the bluetooth setting to on / off works fine, as does the different sound settings. The weird behaviour shows up when I try to bond a device. As I described in the title, my policy has the kioskCustomization.deviceSettings flag set to SETTINGS_ACCESS_BLOCKED. With this policy enforced, the bonding process doesnt work with my custom app and also does not work with the official android bluetooth settings (accessed over an intent) I think this is a bug, because the phone can still bond to other devices if other devices advertise themselves to this phone. Can you please help me with this? Regards
hi, i manage androind devices by Microsoft intune. From device restrictions policy "Data sharing between work and personal profiles " - setting i choose "No restrictions on sharing" but still contact's or pictures are separated and there is no way to share between profiles. is there way to bypass that?
Our primary contact for our enterprise account has left the company and we have no way to update this information. We need to get access to our company account so that we can use Zero Touch Enrollment, but can't do this without changing the primary contact. Is there a way to change the primary contact when they are no longer with the company and their email is no longer valid?
Managing background tasks efficiently is crucial for ensuring that Android apps provide a smooth user experience without draining the battery unnecessarily. As battery life is always a concern for users, developers need to be mindful of how background operations affect power consumption.I’d like to hear from the community about the best strategies, techniques, and tools available for managing background tasks while optimizing battery usage. Below are some specific points I’m curious about:WorkManager vs. AsyncTask/Handler:How do you choose between using WorkManager, AsyncTask, or other threading mechanisms for background tasks? What’s the impact on battery life for each approach?I understand WorkManager is ideal for deferred tasks that need to be guaranteed (e.g., uploading logs, syncing data), but are there any cases where using it may not be optimal?JobScheduler vs. AlarmManager:What’s the best way to schedule periodic tasks while ensuring minimal battery drain? Should we be using Jo
Good afternooni have some questions concerning the oemconfig on motorola edge smartphones (managed through Microsoft Intune as dedicated devices (kiosk)).we already use the oemconfig (on Zebra) with success... but on the edge 40, if we enroll the devices, (all as kiosk devices) we need to adjust the reboot key ( programmable key). users want to reboot or shutdown the device, they get the Google Assistant that is assigned as default when they long press the power key.we need to configure (approx. 150 devices in kiosk mode) so we need to configure this behaviour trough oemconfig.we can program the key, but cannot find the option to show the power on/off menu. We can do it manually... but for 150 device i would like to do it trough OEMconfig. is there any manual with options we can set for each configuration, like there is a fantastic manual for Zebra Android devices... we have the information mentioned in https://en-us.support.motorola.com/ci/fattach/get/85225163/1728405
There is no information about uploaded devices by the reseller. We purchased devices in couple parts. It would be great if we could see when, how many and from which reseller the devices were added to zero-touch.Also it seems that there are few devices missing from the list of devices. Maybe it was intentionally done by one of the admins but it would be great if there was a log of what was done by the admins.
From the feature list in Android Enterprise from https://developers.google.com/android/work/requirements#4.25.-system-audio-management_1, I want to discuss the feature 4.25.2. IT admins can prevent users from modifying device volume settings (go to adjustVolumeDisabled). This also mutes the devices. In theory a very good feature, in certain areas when you want to block users from either changing the volume to silent or the other way. Our goal was to use with Samsung Service Plugin where you can set the default volume, but since blocking the volume buttons on the phone, you are also stuck with a mute device. So my feature request would be to have the feature without muting the device.
Hello Team,i am looking for supportability matrix in reference to Active Sync Protocol Version with reference to Android OS and Stock Gmail App ? Eg which Android OS support Active Sync Protocol Version 16.1 and above ?
where is a unique bundle ID, eg com.myapp.somethin. The developer will be changed, so the app will be signed with the same developer but with a different account with exactly the same bundle id.Once the application will be moved to developer A to developer B (but with the same bundle ID), do we need to anything on MDM?Do we have to add it to the app catalog again, or since the bundle ID doesn't change, can it handle it without mdm admin intervention?
After creating a new user using createAndManageUser, I want to use the profile owner to clear the DISALLOW_OUTGOING_CALLS restriction on the new user, but it doesn't take effect. What should I do?Code: mDevicePolicyManager.clearUserRestriction(mComponentName, UserManager.DISALLOW_OUTGOING_CALLS);
On the zero touch iframe page, it says that the account is already Connected, so the connection is not possible.Where can I check the currently connected account so i can make change of it?
Dear All, We have issues to make work perfectly the roaming when we move inside our building and thus switch from a wifi Access Point (antenna) to another. It is not critical for lot of web apps but when as soon as we use collaborative apps (like MS teams for example), the connection is lost and we are cut for some seconds before the network comes back again and teams recover the audio / video. Are some of you facing the same issue ?
There is an Android app (I created). I just want to create two GRAPHS with CPU Runtime and Battery Consumption. It is as simple as this. 1. I tried with Android Studio Profiler. But from .trace file I am not sure how to generate the graph. 2. Are there any other alternative tools? I just need to create two graphs for the app.
I have enrolled a fully managed device using the Android Management API. However, when I delete the device from my enterprise using the enterprise.device.delete API, it factory resets the data. I want to preserve the user's data instead of performing a factory reset. I also tried creating a personal use device, but then it didn't allow me to launch an app in KIOSK mode. I want both features: running an app in KIOSK mode and preserving the data when I delete the device. I'm not sure how to achieve this.
Hello,Got an issue where we have a website we need to use a Bluetooth headset on android. Within Chrome the browser does not let you use the Bluetooth microphone. It seems to default to built in mic on the device. Is there any way to make the phone default to Bluetooth mic every time all the time? Can we change the audio_policy.conf and make it do this through the root file?
We are observing, Intune started displaying the Serial no's /IMEI's of Samsung Android 12, 13 device and device type is BYOD -> Work Profile. did you see this in your environment? Model affected are SM-A,G,S,G,M SERIES.
Hello everyone, I encounter a huge problem with my dual sims and my 2 profiles (work and personal).Everytime i received a call (unknow or a work contact), it's appear on the default dialer app (personal), and I think it's difficult to manager this on a unique application. When i try to create a contact from this app, the system want to add to the personal contact. Is there a way to manage with a work dialer app and connect it to my work profile? Even more, there is a way to link a sim to a work profile? If someone want to call me on my work number, to link it to the work profile? Thanks for all your feedback
Does any one have solid contacts/methods for getting Verizon to enroll us in the Zero-Touch Portal. We recently had a company fall under our IT umbrella and their corporate phones needed to get into our MDM (they currently have no management system on corporate cell phones). They used Verizon to purchase their Android phones last year, but daily phone calls to Verizon Business Management and they still can't seem to get us enrolled or find the right department to do this. I actually haven't spoken to anyone (and I have now been forwarded to nearly 20 people in Verizon) who has even heard of the Android Zero-Touch Portal. We've had an trouble-ticket/incident number open with them but don't seem to be gaining any traction. Anyone have any helpful experience or contacts with Verizon?
Hi everyone,I did see in previous posts, that we had a problem with missing apps a year ago. (https://www.androidenterprise.community/t5/general-discussions/fixed-service-announcement-available-work-apps-missing-in/td-p/811) Since yesterday we have a problem, that all optional apps are not visibile in the managed Play store. Our users see only the required apps but not the optional apps or webclips. This happens only for users enrolling a new device. Existing users does not have the problem "yet".Is there anybody else seeing this problem. We use Ivanti EPMM.Kind regardsMelkon
I have implemented the AndroidDeviceProvisioning client sucessfully.I have added scope "https://www.googleapis.com/auth/androidworkzerotouchemm" to my accesstoken. This is the error I am getting:"code": 403, "errors": [ { "domain": "global", "message": "The caller does not have permission", "reason": "forbidden" } ], "message": "The caller does not have permission", "status": "PERMISSION_DENIED" Which permission here is being denied? Or what permissions do i need to get from my end? Currently the account i am fetching the devices from is our own account itself, so i have access to the ZTE portal as well.
Hello, We are currently supporting our German-based client enrol and manage over 700 Samsung (Android 14) tablets and phones into their Microsoft Intune tenant, both dedicated and fully managed. Over the last 2 months we have been having significant issues with enrolment when using all methods except token based (afw#setup), whereby the device gets stuck and hangs at the 'Install Work Apps' screen for several hours until they finally install and enrolment can continue. We have tried multiple troubleshooting steps but without an easy way to access the logs from the enrolment screen I have an inclination that this is not a Microsoft issue since the device does actually appear in Intune as enrolled (just not registered in Entra given it doesn't reach that UI step). We have tried enrolling devices into a completely fresh Microsoft tenant with no app or device configuration and the stuck issue still persists. The issue appears for brand new, never enrolled, devices straight from o
Hello everyone, I hope you are all doing well. We talk here in the community quite a lot about setting up company devices and managing devices whilst they are in use, but something we haven't gone into too much detail is what do you do with your devices once they have come to the end of their life at your company? I imagine you have to consider quite a few things; such as if you are removing devices how do you get new devices seamlessly back into use? What do you do with the old devices? Do you return them to your OEM or another company to be reused? There is a large sustainability factor here that you may also consider, as well as many other things. It would be great to hear how do you manage this? Do you have a set timeframe that you look to refresh devices? Any tips or challenges that you have discovered? Looking forward to hearing from you. Lizzie
Over the past month, we’ve noticed a significant increase in the review times for our apps that are permanently private under Managed Google Play. Previously, review times for both closed tracks and production were almost instantaneous. However, we’re now seeing delays ranging from 20 minutes to over an hour. Has anyone else experienced similar issues? Is there any known way to revert to the shorter review times we had before? It’s possible that this change coincides with our recent verification of developer accounts to meet the new requirements, but we’re unsure if that’s related.
