      Gemini in Chrome sidebar is still not generally available  across the European Union, is there info when it will?

        Hi ​@ChristianK thanks for joining the session. As mentioned the primary driver behind the delay is compliance with strict EU regulations, specifically the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Digital Markets Act (DMA). 

         

        Google is working to ensure the feature meets all European data governance, user consent, and storage standards before a broader rollout; however you can be rest assured we will announce new markets as/when they launch here within the community (and on the Google Blog) so stay tuned!

          Q: What is the difference between Gemini in Chrome and Gemini Enterprise?

          A: They are distinct product tracks with different licenses. The Chrome sidebar features a Workspace-level integration that reads page content, while Gemini Enterprise/GCP solutions offer backend data connectors to search external databases. Ensure you speak with a regional Google specialist to choose the license that matches your technical requirements.

           

          ​​​​​​​Q. ​​​​​​​Will Gemini in Chrome take active admin actions inside the Google Admin Console?

          ​​​​​​​A. No. As a strict security precaution, auto-browse features in the sidebar will refuse to perform actual admin actions on your behalf. Its role is strictly to act as an assistant to analyze page content and guide your manual workflows. Use the sidebar to summarize complex security dashboards or generate step-by-step remediation plans.

          Q. Does Google use data from Admin Console pages to train its public AI models?

          A. Absolutely not. Gemini in Chrome strictly adheres to your organization's Google Workspace Enterprise agreements. Google does not train on, inspect, or retain your enterprise data. Admins can confidently use the sidebar to parse sensitive reports and logs knowing data boundaries are secure.

           

          Q. How does Chrome Enterprise Premium (CEP) help protect corporate AI flows?

          A. CEP acts as a secure guardrail for your business's data. It allows IT admins to start in a non-breaking audit mode to identify risky AI behavior, and then transition to enforcement and governance (e.g., restricting copy-pasting, masking sensitive data, and blocking uploads). Always deploy CEP in "Audit Mode" first to map existing user needs before enforcing strict blocking rules.

          🛠️ Advanced Admin Tools & Custom Integrations

           

          Q How can we connect Chrome to an internal database or business CRM for automated search?

          A. On the workspace side, Gemini can only read what is visible in front of you on the page. To enable automated database-wide searches, the recommended path is Gemini Enterprise (GCP), which uses Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and APIs to index your CRM backend. Keep an eye out for an upcoming webinar to be scheduled in Q4 2026 that will demonstrate how to build automated terminal searches using Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers, APIs, and GAM.

           

          Q. Are there Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers available for Google Admin Console?

          A. Currently, the only officially supported MCP server in this space is the Chrome Enterprise Premium MCP. While there is no native Workspace server, admins can easily combine APIs, GAM, and MCP to build comprehensive admin workflows. Again, keep an eye out for an upcoming webinar to be scheduled in Q4 2026 that will deep-dive into terminal workflows and demo environments.
