Question

How Can I enroll android tv with android api management?

I'm trying to make a basic MDM service for Android TV. In the beginning, I was testing everything on an Android phone, but when I started working with TV, I realized that TV devices are not supported by "Android Management API".

I know that I'm not the first person who asked a similar question, but there was only one answer pointing out that it's not possible

https://support.google.com/work/android/thread/158930652/how-can-i-enrollment-android-tv-with-android-api-management?hl=en

Maybe something has changed recently and now there is a solution.

Hello,

Unfortunately this is still not possible, you can keep looking at the AMAPI changelog located here to see if/when this is released: https://developers.google.com/android/management/release-notes

Hello, I am in the same situation where my entreprise wants to make a MDM solution on Android TV. But AMAPI is incompatible with Android TV and the old DPC method is deprecated since several years (it does not accept new registrations).

Hello,

Do you know if there are any plan to support AMAPI for Android TV in the near future? Or even better, maybe it's already available through some beta program that we are unaware.

MDM is a really important missing piece for providing scalable B2B solutions with Android TV. The "Regular" Android OS already provides all the feature for developing great digital signage solutions, but the TV version has multiple limitations such as the missing support of AMAPI. We have been waiting for a few years already without any official news.

Android TV is great for digital signages but unfortunately it lacks AMAPI support 😞
