Pixel watch notifications from work profile
I use a corporate device pixel 7 pro phone. I am using pixel watch 3. THe watch app is installed on personal profile and in notifications, I see option to enable work profile apps which I have done already still I don't see the work apps notifications on my watch. I need to understand how to get this working. People using apple phones are easily using their watch to get such notification but everything with google is so confusing and complex. Let me know any easy way to get this implemented. I am disappointed in google products lately as I see my colleagues do same thing very easily with apple devices.

Hello HellBoy84,
Welcome to the community, nice to meet you.
Thanks for your message. The good news this is possible - I currently have a pixel watch 2 linked to my phone and it when I have work profile on I do get notifications (ie. from email).
I imagine you have looked into this, but you need to allow notifications via your phone 'Settings' as well as via the Pixel watch app.
If this still isn't working, I would actually recommend contacting your company IT admin, to see what they say. It could be that this permission policy is turned off.
It would be great to hear how you get on. Also, if there are other things you are keen to also see here please do share any other ideas you have, I'd love to hear them.
Thank you, speak soon.
Lizzie

I have a pixel 9 pro paired with a pixel 3 watch, and am experiencing the same problem. However, I discovered that it is definitely being controlled by a corporate policy. Try looking in Settings; Notifications; under the Privacy section - Notification Read, Reply & Control. In my case, Google Pixel Watch is listed under the ALLOWED category, BUT, directly underneath it says 'Access to work profile notifications is blocked'. It took a lot of poking around to find that particular setting on my phone as I have all of the notifications allowed on both devices, etc. I knew it had to be blocked somehow because all of my personal profile apps are fine, but the answer was a layer deeper than I expected and not in the App Notifications section where I expected to find it.
Like you, I was frustrated that it was a 'google' issue as I see most others with Apple products having no issues, but the granularity and control that the work profile provides is very deep and I'm hoping it was an oversight within my own organization. I'm not sure if the IT team will change the policy, but I now know where the issue is. I think IT defaults to all things Apple in many orgs, so we need to keep pressing!

Thanks so much for sharing this kayakin_dan. When you say ''Access to work profile notifications is blocked' does it say this directly under the category item or when you click on an individual app (following the breadcrumb you mention here)? If you have a photo that would be great. I am able to get work profile notification on my watch, so it does sound like as you say, a potential policy restriction.
Out of interest have you spoken with your IT team about this at your company?
(As as side note, love your username - I presume you are a fan of kayaking? I am too - considering getting a sea kayak at the moment - would be great if you could share a bit about this in our community intro discussion) π

Hi Lizzie. It appears directly below the category item. print screen attached,.
I have a dialog going with IT right now. They acknowledged that it is blocked now that I found this setting and are working on a custom profile for me. Once they get that right, they will add it to our standard android profile. We are using Omnissa's Workspace One product which I'm sure has the capability to create the proper exception(s).
I will update my profile as suggested. I'm a kayak fisherman and love spending time on any water!

I added my comment on another forum but since there are more replies here thought I will mention it. The issue seems to be due to COPE method of enrollment. Below is the thread from Jarmo who is from my company IT team. It is very disappointing that google is not able to force Microsoft to fix the issues for months. I am having second thoughts on sticking with androind due to such issues as I see my colleagues easily use apple watches with corporate iphones without any such issues. I will move to apple as my company offers it if google does not improve such issues.

I'll follow up on this with Microsoft on next week. We have a case open for them but unfortunately no ETE for fix. Keep you all posted once I get some answer from Microsoft.
Thanks Jarmo

Thanks for this jarmo_akkanen. I was speaking with a few of the team about this and we agree, we do think WP notifications should be coming through to smart watches for COPE devices, if permitted through the policy - we'd need a bug report to explore further, but it sounds like you are already discussing with Microsoft so I let you continue those conversations, but let us know if we can potentially be of any help as it would be fantastic to find a solution here.
Thanks again. π
