Important Security Update: 2-Step Verification Coming Soon for Managed Google Accounts

Hello everyone,

To better protect your Google domain from unauthorized access, we will soon begin requiring 2-Step Verification (2SV) for administrative Managed Google Accounts.

Why the change?

Your account's security is a top priority. 2-Step Verification provides a critical layer of defense against account hijacking by requiring a second step to verify your identity when you sign in. This makes it much more difficult for an unauthorized person to access your account, even if they have your password.

What you need to know

This change will be rolling out in the near future. We encourage you to enable 2-Step Verification now to ensure your account is prepared.

Thank you for your partnership in keeping Android secure.

    Hey @Lizzie ,

in general nice to read but a question comes into my mind.

If i enable 2step verification for such an account with existing EMM binding, i guess the binding will stay untouched (no rebinding needed or so). Right?

    Hey @Moombas,

    I hope you are good.

For Managed Google Domain accounts, there should be no impact to this. Whatever credential setup you have for login to the EMM console will be unchanged.

Let me know if you have more questions on this.

    Thank you.
