Android Enterprise Expert Certification
Hey,
Not sure if this is at all correct place to address this, but once again when I started to do the renewal for Android Enterprise Expert certification, I though that I would want to ensure the Android Academy is still the correct place to do these, as the material is seriously outdated, even it still factually largely applies, it still seems frankly dumb to read upon features that came out with Android 5.1 - 8.1, and obtain a certification by that way.
Also the session that can be enrolled via the portal, are still titled that what is new on Android in 2025, though the session is for this year.
If someone has some knowledge of the above would appreciate any info as had to dig abit via various contacts to get info of this community site.

Hi,
For your partner status, silver or gold, you need to renew. When you are new in the program (a new coworker for example), you need to follow the Android Associate course first. Thats enough to get certified and to get the silver badge.
You need x amount of associates, and x amount of professional and expert depending on the number of people you have in sales, technical roles, and the level you want to achieve (or keep).
The next year, the ones who already did the Android Associate, or higher, only need to follow the Whats new in Android Enterprise course to get their license renewed. They don't need to follow the whole associate again.
And yes, it is called 2025 since its released in september of 2025. You need to follow that course before march or may (can't remember exactly) to keep your and your companies certifications.
Oh and make sure that when going to the acadamy, you log in using the partner portal option. The companies admin (the one who left I assume) is able to invite people via https://www.androidenterprise.dev. After that, you can login directly via the partner portal option in the academy. Hey nesseijah,
Welcome to the AE Customer Community - I'm glad you've found us!
Thanks for your feedback on the Academy content and layout. This is run by part Partner Enablement team, so I will be sure to send it over to them.
In addition to this, it sounds like you have been using the Academy for some years now, if you are looking to renew your Expert certification. I wonder, out of interest, what type of information you'd like or expect to see as part of this certification? Just wondering also are you a partner (I know quite a few customers here in the community also have completed some of those certifications).
It would be great to explore your thoughts a little more.
Thanks so much,
Lizzie

Hey Lizzie,
We should have partner status, but as the person who was our internal liaison towards Google has left the company it also left all of our certification/partnership status a bit hanging or at least I'm not aware of the contact would be currently and I have not seen any communication via the academy.
While browsing the academy pages today I came to realise that I have obviously renewed the certificate incorrectly prior, or I have possibly just missed that it would have been possible to do the refresher of "whats new" only each year to retain the certificate validity.
Regardless the training data there is still quite old even to try to get our new junior admins to take the certification based on the material available, I would maybe just like it to be closer to OS versions that are currently being supported generally in Android Enterprise deployments instead on EOL platform versions, so that it would be something that is useful for them day to day.
