Google Account for Android Enterprise gets disabled

Hi all,

we use a Google account in our Ivanti Neurons mobile device management system as an Android Enterprise account to manage the android apps and devices.

Our account gets disabled with the following message: "Apparently, this account has been used in a way that violates Google's policy."

We are unaware of any policy violation and don't know why this happened.

At the moment everything is still working in the mdm, but Google says the account will be deleted in june 2026.

Is there anyone from Google who can help me with that and can tell me why this happened?

I fear that we will have to re-enroll all android devices if the account is deleted and we cannot find another solution to reactivate the Google account till then.

I would appreciate any help. Thank you.

Hello sbuehl and welcome to the Customer Community 👋

I just wanted to ask if you had reached out to Ivanti already?

If so, could you let us know whet they've said?

Just to be sure, you are talking about your google account that is being disabled and not the connection between Ivanti and Google play / Android Enterpise?

If its the first one, is your Google account managed or did you already migrate to a Managed Google domain? If not, you need to go trough the consumer support channels of Google. Untill you migrate to a Managed Google domain, the Google account is a personal account and therefore follows the guidelines and processes belonging to personal accounts.

More information about Managed Google Domains and Android can be found here: https://blog.google/products-and-platforms/products/android-enterprise/domain-upgrade/

And support regarding accounts might work from here, you can do an appeal: https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/40695?hl=en

The community might also be a good place to ask this question: https://support.google.com/accounts/community?hl=en

And last thing I can add, please make sure to try everything before connecting a new account. Most MDM solutions are not able (at this point) to swap the Android Enterprise account with a new one while leaving your current devices, configuration and app assignments working. When connecting a new account, you might have to rebuild everything.

Maybe someone else has some other solutions, but this is what I had to do in the past. And wasn't always successfull with it.

    Good luck!

    Hi,

    Michel

Yes, the google account is disabled. The connection between Ivanti and Google is still working.

No we haven't migrated to google domain

Yes, I definitely want to avoid that we have to connect another google account with ivanti mdm

    Emilie_B

I have an appointment with Ivanti tomorrow.

But I think that no one there can help me either, because it's not a ivanti problem. Its a problem with the google account. I'll get back to you tomorrow

Does this mean that when I migrate the personal account to a managed google domain account although the personal account is deactivated, then everything will work again and the account will be activated again?

Migrating switches your bind from the gmail account to a managed google domain - a free google workspace account, so the gmail account won't have it associated any longer
