Intune now showing tenant name on lockscreen
For everyone reading this, the issue is back.
As pointed out by jasonbayton on linkedin, there has been an AMAPI change. A few days after his post, customers reached out to me saying that the issue has returned somewhere in the past couple of weeks. Microsoft has been contacted again and we will see what happens next.

We have exactly the same issue for one of our customers, and in our instance the company has changed its name since the managed google play account was added, so all the handsets are showing the wrong company name on the lock screen.
We have been through Microsoft support and the Intune team were no help at all, telling us the message is enforced by Android and there is nothing they can do about it.
Organizations change their names all the time, so I am struggling to wrap my head around the fact that there is no way to change the org name in Intune without removing the google play account and offboarding all the devices, and no way to stop the company name showing on the lock screen.
