New devices only receive "Enterprise Default Profile" instead of default profile
- 3 months ago
Just an FYI, not sure if this applies to ZTE as well but might be worth testing:
If you apply a new profile to a device in Samsung Knox, it will send a reset signal to the device. This happens when you clear the old profile, and assign a new one instead of just directly assigning a new one.
Has a solution been found for this?
We are also experiencing that all new devices now come with the "Enterprise Default Profile" instead of the profile configured as the default. This is causing a lot of frustration among our employees who purchase a new phone but are unable to use it until they contact IT support, which then manually switches to the correct profile in the Zero Touch portal.
It doesn’t really feel like “Zero Touch” when IT has to manually change the configuration profile for every single device that is acquired.

Have you unlinked ZT from the EMM?

Hi,
I have the same issue.
What is the risk of un-link the ZTE account from Intune (for existing or newer devices)?

With Intune, the enrollment configuration must be present only on the ZTE portal and never linked in Intune. So if the configuration is done correctly on ZTE, for me, there is no risk and in any case it will not work as long as the link is present in the Intune configuration.
