Re: [Announcement] Launching Android Enterprise Insiders & Registration
This is a great point Moombas, this is a little restricted at the moment. When we implemented this the EMM/MDM question is really to help with problem solving ie. a solution may work in a different way on one EMM to another - but Insiders is a different use case, so definitely something to think about how this can evolve. I'd say in the meantime though, this is really to help us match us potential projects - the project requirements will be shown in the overview before joining, so you can alway highlight if you use multi-partners to us directly. This make me think it would be cool to have a 'feedback' post in Insiders, around these types of points. Thanks so much for this. 😀35Views1like0CommentsRe: [Announcement] Launching Android Enterprise Insiders & Registration
Hello everyone, I'm pleased to say the new Android Enterprise Insiders area here in the Customer Community is now live 🎉. 'Insiders' has now been added to our community header, so you should all see this. When you have been approved for the group, you will also be able to see a members-only area called 'Insiders home'. The first project has been added by JordanOC - so if you have access please go and let us know if you'd like to join this one. If you are interested in becoming an Insider, please continue to reply in this thread and we will be in touch - we feel this will be a great area for us to come together as a community and try-out, test and adopt new features in a supportive environment. This is a new program, so we would love to shape this together with you. If you have any questions please do let me know, I'm happy to help. Hey Moombas, I hope you are good. For Managed Google Domain accounts, there should be no impact to this. Whatever credential setup you have for login to the EMM console will be unchanged. Let me know if you have more questions on this. Thank you.21Views0likes0CommentsImportant Security Update: 2-Step Verification Coming Soon for Managed Google Accounts
Hello everyone, To better protect your Google domain from unauthorized access, we will soon begin requiring 2-Step Verification (2SV) for administrative Managed Google Accounts. Why the change? Your account's security is a top priority. 2-Step Verification provides a critical layer of defense against account hijacking by requiring a second step to verify your identity when you sign in. This makes it much more difficult for an unauthorized person to access your account, even if they have your password. What you need to know This change will be rolling out in the near future. We encourage you to enable 2-Step Verification now to ensure your account is prepared. For more information and step-by-step instructions, please see our help article. Find out more about upgrading to a Managed Google Accounts in this community Feature Focus post. Thank you for your partnership in keeping Android secure. Hello everyone, To enhance security on Android devices, Google has announced that developers of Android applications, including those distributed outside of the Google Play Store, will be required to complete developer verification in order for their apps to be installed on Android devices. This new policy is designed to combat the spread of malware and financial fraud by increasing developer accountability. Rollout starts in September 2026 for Brazil, Indonesia, Singapore, and Thailand. This requirement will be expanded globally in 2027 and beyond. We understand that enterprise organizations often use off-Play methods of distribution methods for private applications. As such: Applications installed on fully managed devices (DO) or within Work Profiles (BYOD and COPE) can continue to be installed, without developer verification, until September 2027. After this point, developer verification will be required for the app to be installed. Applications installed by EMM Device Policy Controllers (DPCs) will be exempt from requiring developer verification indefinitely. (For example, apps installed via Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub, Intune Company Portal, SOTI MobiControl, etc.) Private applications installed with Managed Google Play will be exempt from developer verification indefinitely. We would welcome your feedback on other application distribution methods used by your company and how this recent announcement will impact you. Loving your ideas here for possible follow-ups and great to see your response. Thank you jasonbayton (sorry this has potentially added to your to-do list 😆). To add, here are some related developer docs that the team have created related to this, thought you might find useful: Android Management API: https://developers.google.com/android/management/upgrade-an-enterprise https://developers.google.com/android/management/upgrade-user-accounts-on-devices https://developers.google.com/android/management/provision-device Play EMM AMPI: https://developers.google.com/android/work/play/emm-api/upgrade-an-enterprise https://developers.google.com/android/work/play/emm-api/identities-and-user-accounts https://developers.google.com/android/work/play/emm-api/implement-user-accounts https://developers.google.com/android/work/play/emm-api/upgrade-user-accounts Hope this is helpful. 😀50Views2likes0CommentsRe: [Announcement] Launching Android Enterprise Insiders & Registration
Thanks everyone for highlighting this - whilst I test this further, I removed this component earlier from your profile, so you won't even be able to see 'EMM' - but of course you can view it in your own Settings. I'll keep you posted. Thanks again.12Views1like0CommentsRe: [Announcement] Launching Android Enterprise Insiders & Registration
Hey Prathik, Great to hear you are interested in this. On the display of your org ID on the community, if you look at your own profile, you will be able to see this information - if you look at another members' profile even when they have selected their EMM as 'Other' you should not be able to see the org ID only their EMM. I've double-checked this and I am unable to see this information. Can I check if you were looking at other members' profiles or just your own? Thanks so much, Lizzie89Views1like5CommentsRe: [Announcement] Launching Android Enterprise Insiders & Registration
Excellent to hear you are looking forward to this Rakib. Yes, as Moombas mentioned, only your selected EMM will show to other community members. This is mainly because it can be helpful to know what EMM you are using when replying, as this can change response you are providing.18Views0likes0CommentsRe: [Announcement] Launching Android Enterprise Insiders & Registration
Great to hear your responses to AE Insiders mattdermody, jasonbayton, Moombas. Regarding your question Moombas, each project will be different, and on the whole we hope that anyone who is an Insider and is interested in the feature will be able to test it. But, some projects may be more suited to specific setups for testing/roll-out and so this might be EMM/MDM specific. These requirement details will be outline when the project is announced in the Insiders area. Hopefully that helpful, but feel free to ask more questions. Thanks, Lizzie126Views1like0CommentsRe: Android Developer Verification Requirements in AE
Hey remlap, mattdermody, jasonbayton, I hope you are all doing well. Just to say that we have just shared an update on this in the community product updates board: here. Hey everyone, We're pleased to announce a brand new initiative built exclusively for you, the members of the Android Enterprise Customer Community: Android Enterprise Insiders! What is the Android Enterprise Insiders Program? In short, it’s your opportunity to get hands on with Android Enterprise features before they are generally available or when they are hot off the press. As an Insider, you will: Get hands on with new functionality. Share your feedback to help us identify improvements to the feature or documentation. Collaborate with your peers, exploring the new features of Android device management. Why Are We Launching This Program? You are the experts on the front lines, managing mobility for your organizations every single day. Your insights and real world experience are invaluable. We want to build a stronger partnership with you and create a direct channel for your feedback on specific features. The Android Enterprise Insiders program is our way of moving beyond traditional feedback collection. It’s a dedicated board within the Customer Community designed to give you early access to new features and a seat at the table as we refine them. Together, we can ensure that the future of Android Enterprise is powerful, practical, and perfectly suited to your needs. What Can You Expect? In early September we’ll be launching a dedicated space right here in the community for our Insiders. Here’s a high-level look at how it will work: Access to Insiders: Once you are an Insider you will have access to a dedicated Insiders discussion area, which will act as your home for the programme and you can meet other members there. Apply for Initiatives: When a new feature is ready for testing, we’ll post about the opportunity. You can then express interest to participate in that specific initiative. Get Hands On: Approved applicants will be granted access to a private project area. There, you'll find everything you need to get started, including onboarding guides and testing instructions. Please note: Depending on the feature, an NDA may be required. Share Your Voice: You can create posts to share feedback and report issues. We may also host office hours and other online sessions to discuss the features in more detail. Who Is This For? We're looking for any IT admin who manages an Android Enterprise deployment. While the overall program is open to everyone, specific testing opportunities may have certain requirements (e.g. using a particular EMM partner, a specific device type, or enrolment method). This is why keeping your community profile up-to-date is important! It will help us match you with the Insider opportunities that are most relevant to your deployment and interests. Ready to Become an Insider? Here’s how to get started Update your community profile! Critically, we need your Android Enterprise Org ID. This is the most important step to ensure we can invite you to relevant programs down the line. Like or comment on this post. This way we’ll know you're interested in participating. We hope this sounds like an exciting initiative and thank you for being a part of this community, we look forward to further collaborating with you! Hey Prathik, Sorry I'm just getting back on this. There was a ticket open for this and it has been resolved - so hopefully this was the last time you've seen this with your devices. Please do let me know if you are still seeing this or experience it again. Thanks so much, Lizzie21Views0likes2Comments
