Before I delve into the adb logs, anyone seeing issues enrolling Samsung devices running Android 14? Since a few weeks now, I and a few other users get the error: “Can’t add work profile”. The only way around it is to reset to factory…I did that yesterday and was able to immediately enroll after and today I unenrolled and re-enrolled and got the same error…Solved18KViews1like12CommentsFactory Reset Protection and Captive Portals
A bit of background on this, we're currently moving to use COPE Enrolment for all of our devices after using BYOD Enrolment for devices purchased by our org. Utilising BYOD we had issues with users signing into their gmail accounts and leaving the business and we were locked out of the device by Factory Reset Protection (We've used Knox Mobile Enrolment to solve this). This all made sense as it was a BYOD device and for consumers etc it makes a lot of sense. The problem we've encountered is even with COPE enroled devices, if a user doesn't remove their gmail account from the personal profile before resetting the device when the device is used again you're unable to use a Captive Portal network for setup again and this error message is received - "Unable to sign in to Wi-Fi AP. An unauthorised factory reset has been performed on this device. the sign-in screen cannot be accessed." Even after enrolling the device using a WPA2/3 Network and signing in with the google account in question and manually removing it then resetting the device we still have this issue, it's as if the FRP flag gets set and isn't being removed for some reason. It seems odd any network and even cellular allows you to continue but a captive portal connection doesn't. Has anyone else encountered this issue? Hello everyone, We have the problem that when I want to make the Google Calendar app available on a COPE device, it crashes after the welcome screen with the message "action not allowed". On Work Profile Only/BYOD it works without any problems. Are you aware of this problem? Could this be related to Intune automatically/default blocking the Google accounts in COPE? Thanks, Regards, Daniel6KViews0likes17CommentsTesting Apps on BYOD Work Profile
We are a game app development company and we use both company-owned and personally owned devices (BYOD) to test our apps. We have been managing BYOD as Android device administrator, but recently migrated to Android Enterprise. The Android Enterprise BYOD work profile does not allow app installation from anything other than managed google play, so we are unable to install apps from Firebase App Distribution or Microsoft App Center, which we have been using to test apps. We tried uploading the app to Managed Google Play, but it was not sufficient for testing, as had to update the version code after each upload, and past versions could not be installed, and it took longer (than before) for the updates to take effect (Also, the app must be uploaded as a production version and cannot be used for internal test). What we would like to know is how to test the app in the Android Enterprise BYOD work profile (as we have done in the past); it would be great if we could install the app from Firebase App Distribution, or use Google Play's internal app sharing (not available right now) would be fine. Does anyone have any ideas? Or are there any plans for improvements on the Android Enterprise roadmap?5KViews0likes8CommentsThe Security patch level data missing - MS Intune
Hi everyone, We are using MS Intune to manage our Android devices. The Security patch level data on our Android BYOD enrolled devices seems to be blank on all devices as they do a new sync via Company portal app. It seems like this has all happened in the last few days. Any other MS Intune customers seen this behavior last days? This is very critical to our device compliance. Currently we have a little over 3000 devices enrolled in BYOD mode, and patch info is now missing for about 2/3 of them. On some of our devices where we still saw the info, we did a check device settings in the company portal, and then the info went away. This was with Company Portal version 5.0.5981.0. First guess was that some change to company portal app was causing this issue. There are a lot of devices with recent contact time that still show patch info now, but not sure what CP version is on them. thanks Jarmo4.8KViews1like4CommentsPlay Integrity Verdicts
Is there a proven method to determine why a device might be failing Play integrity verdicts? From what I can see it appears to be a black box. I'm trying to troubleshoot a BYOD device that is failing the Strong Integrity check and Device Integrity check. We've checked the device is a certified device (Samsung S23 - SM-S911B), Device has Google Play services enabled and is showing as certified in the play store. Bootloader isn't unlocked, the build seems to be an official build (UP1A.231005.007.S911BXXU3ZWJ6) also. Anyone have any experience with this? Hello, I am having an issue with contacts from my work profile not being recognized when I have an incoming call, the notification is showing the phone number, but as soon as I pick up the contact name shows up. Calls history also displays the contact name. I am using my personal phone (aosp android 13) as a work phone, with two sim cards and a work profile linked to an enterprise google account. Both profile have Google contacts and dialer apps installed, with the "Identify callers numbers" option turned on. Gave all the permissions I could to both apps, but this hasn't fixed it. Any suggestion ?4.2KViews1like1CommentBYOD AE Work Profile - Samsung Device with Android 12, 13 - Sharing Serial no/IMEI details with Intune MDM

Dear all, Since three weeks ago we noticed issue to deploy basic Configuration profiles (WiFi) into devices (MDM is Intune). Problem ONLY occurs with newly enrolled COPE devices running on Android 15. So we think it's Android 15 (Google) issue on COPE enrolled devices because all the other scenarios working fine: BYOD enrolled devices get WiFi profiles successfully deployed to device (Android 14/15) COPE enrolled devices get WiFi profiles successfully deployed to device (Android 14) COPE enrolled devices do NOT get WiFi profiles successfully deployed to device (Android 15) Anyone else noticed the same/similar issue with Configuration profiles with Android 15 clients?
