Hello everyone, I hope you are having a good week. A management solution helps you to set up, secure and manage your devices in your organisation. I see it like a comfy hub for you to ensure that your devices are working as you expect (whatever size your company is). So understandably, one of the biggest decisions when getting started with Android at work is choosing the right EMM (Enterprise Mobility Management) for your needs. There is a solution out there to meet almost every need and use case, and sometimes knowing where to start can be tricky. We are lucky here in the community, that many people have already been through this decision and there is a huge amount of experience. The Solutions Directory is a useful place to explore partners and solution options, but there are also many questions and things to consider beforehand, so this got me thinking it would be great to share community tips/advice around this. What tips would you recommend to someone considering and researching EMMs management solutions? Are there any tips you wish you knew at the beginning? Perhaps you have tips on how best to research the different options? If you are currently going through the process, please do comment too, it would be great to hear from you. Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks so much, Lizzie9.1KViews0likes12CommentsDevice enrollment
Need help and/or feedback. We are looking at rolling out several hundred android devices for ordering purposes over the next year and I am running into an issue getting these devices registered. Running into the issue where it tells me "MAXIMUM NUMBER OF DEVICES ALLOWED TO ENROLL INTO THIS ANDROID ENTERPRISE USER ACCOUNT HAS BEEN REACHED". after look into this I've noticed that the USER ACCOUNT has a limit of 10 devices. Is there another way to add more devices or will I need to create more user accounts?Solved3.7KViews1like6CommentsWhat frequently asked questions do you receive?
Hello everyone, As in most roles within a company if you are oversee an area you are likely to receive questions from colleagues and other employees. This got me thinking, for those of you who are managing devices and security, what would you say are the most frequent types of questions you receive? Are there any questions you find difficult to answer or would like more information to provide them with? Or perhaps you very infrequently received question. 😀 As an example, perhaps you receive questions on why only certain apps are available in the work profile, how to update the device or can I use my own mobile? Would love to hear from you, please reply in the comments below. Thank you, Lizzie3.1KViews0likes6CommentsWe want to start using Android Enterprise with MS Intune.
In my organization, we are going to renew equipment, and we were reviewing the option that the equipment we are quoting is an Android Enterprise Recommended device. We were considering the possibility of starting to manage all policies through Microsoft Intune. Now, my question is, aside from having an Android Enterprise Recommended device and the respective active Intune service and everything it entails, do I need anything else, or can I start managing my devices with just this? I would greatly appreciate your support and any additional comments. Best regards.2.8KViews0likes12Comments[Community tips] How do you manage the removal of devices at the end of their life at your company?
Hello everyone, I hope you are all doing well. We talk here in the community quite a lot about setting up company devices and managing devices whilst they are in use, but something we haven't gone into too much detail is what do you do with your devices once they have come to the end of their life at your company? I imagine you have to consider quite a few things; such as if you are removing devices how do you get new devices seamlessly back into use? What do you do with the old devices? Do you return them to your OEM or another company to be reused? There is a large sustainability factor here that you may also consider, as well as many other things. It would be great to hear how do you manage this? Do you have a set timeframe that you look to refresh devices? Any tips or challenges that you have discovered? Looking forward to hearing from you. Hello everyone, I hope you are doing well. Speaking with many of you, I know testing your devices, applications, configurations and all the other things that go into a managed solution can be a time consuming process. Especially if you have multiple types of management mode and device types to the mix as well. Based on this, I thought it would be an interesting discussion point for us all here in the community. Do you any tips or processes you have perfected around testing? Perhaps you have a checklist of things you follow? Or a timeframe that you allocate to test certain areas or a minimum number of devices you test things on before rolling it out more widely? It would be great to hear from you. To the Esteemed Android Developer Community, I am seeking your expert advice to understand whether my task is feasible on the Android platform. I aim to implement the following functionality: Task Description: Objective: I want to create an Android app that plays a pre-recorded voice message during a phone call. The app will: Automatically answer an incoming call when it is ON. Play a pre-recorded audio file stored on the user's phone (recorded by the user). Audio Content: “I am busy right now, call back after some time.” Disconnect the call after playing the message. Usage Scenario: This feature will be used only when the app is ON. It is intended for times when the user is busy and wants to inform the caller without manually attending the call. Key Requirements: Detect and answer incoming calls automatically. Play the recorded voice message to the caller. Ensure the caller hears the message clearly on their end. Disconnect the call programmatically after the message is played. Questions for the Community: Is this Task Feasible? Can the Android platform route a pre-recorded voice file to the call audio stream (STREAM_VOICE_CALL) so the caller can hear it? Are there technical or carrier-level restrictions that could prevent this functionality? Android APIs or Services: Are there specific APIs, such as TelecomManager, CallScreeningService, or AudioManager, that can handle this requirement effectively? Privacy and Legal Concerns: Are there any privacy or legal considerations (e.g., notifying the caller) that I should be aware of when implementing this feature? Compatibility Across Devices: How can I ensure compatibility across different Android devices and versions (API 26 and above)? Additional Information: Voice File: The pre-recorded message is stored locally on the user’s phone in a secure folder. App Activation: The functionality will work only when the app is manually turned ON by the user. Intent: This is a personal productivity tool to handle calls during busy periods. Help Needed: Advice: Can you confirm whether this task is achievable on the Android platform with existing APIs and hardware? Are there specific approaches or best practices to consider for implementing this? Code Implementation: I am looking to hire an experienced Android developer who can: Write fully working code to achieve this task. Ensure the solution is robust, privacy-compliant, and compatible across devices. I deeply appreciate the Android community's expertise and guidance. Your input will help me determine the feasibility and approach for this project. If you have any suggestions, insights, or are interested in developing this, please reply to this request.304Views1like2Comments
