We use Microsoft Intune to manage devices. For the devices which have upgraded to Android 15, the end users can no longer select Microsoft Authenticator as their default application for auto filling passwords. I cannot find any settings in Intune to allow it. All devices are fully managed corporate owned devices. The devices are all Google Pixel 8 or 8a devices. Is this a bug in 15 or am I missing something?8.1KViews15likes45CommentsPreferred Password / Passkey / Autofill Missing Policy
Since the installation of Android 15, I'm now unable to set a preferred Passkey / Password service on the phone, and it says its being blocked by an IT policy, contact an admin. Being the admin, and reviewing setting multiple times, there is no policy set that comes close to this. Is there a way to allow this to be used in an enterprise, or is there no fix and it's a hidden policy?832Views5likes4CommentsCelebrating World Earth Day! Share your experiences
Hello everyone, I wanted to take a moment to highlight that today, April 22nd 2025, is World Earth Day. In recognition of this, I'm sharing a video I found last year (August 2024) that offers an interesting look at the packaging redesign process for Pixel. While sustainability hasn't been a common topic of conversation here in the AE Customer Community much yet, I know from speaking with several of you that it's a consideration for many. I thought today would be a good opportunity to start a relaxed discussion around sustainability and generally the circular economy at work. I'd love to hear any tips, experiences (including challenges), and even the small, collective actions you take that can make a significant difference (at work or in your personal life). For example, thinking on devices - do you have any particular habits to extend the lifespan of your devices? Perhaps you have a minimum requirement for the number of operating system updates you look for, or maybe you have a specific process for recycling or reusing devices at the end of their life. Or perhaps if you work from home you make sure you turn screens and TVs off standby mode to reduce electricity. Looking forward to hearing your insights, ideas and generally how you feel/would like to see sustainability in technology will evolve over time. Thanks so much, Lizzie246Views4likes12CommentsBasic WiFi-profiles (configuration profiles) do not deploy into Device
Dear all, Since three weeks ago we noticed issue to deploy basic Configuration profiles (WiFi) into devices (MDM is Intune). Problem ONLY occurs with newly enrolled COPE devices running on Android 15. So we think it's Android 15 (Google) issue on COPE enrolled devices because all the other scenarios working fine: BYOD enrolled devices get WiFi profiles successfully deployed to device (Android 14/15) COPE enrolled devices get WiFi profiles successfully deployed to device (Android 14) COPE enrolled devices do NOT get WiFi profiles successfully deployed to device (Android 15) Anyone else noticed the same/similar issue with Configuration profiles with Android 15 clients? Best Regards JarmoSolved2.9KViews2likes19CommentsAndroid Auto with COPE
We enroll devices into intune as COPE, but we are finding issues when users connect the device to android auto, any stored contacts in the work profile do not feed through. Has anybody come across this before? or know if there is a way to share contacts from work profile with Android Auto?1.5KViews2likes5CommentsPixel 8 USB C to HDMI in order to allow your phone to act like a chromebox
The ultimate Google Apple Killer! The Google Pixel 8 has USB C port that allows USB to HDMI in the same way my chromebook does. However it is disabled currently in the android OS. Here is what I think you should do with it. I think you should allow the port to be plugged into a monitor or better yet a hub like the one linked below that I currently use for my chromebook. The great part is I have a phone when I need a phone and if I sit down at a desk I plug it in and It will take all of my open Chrome browsers and send it to my monitors while connecting into my mouse and keyboard. Here are the advantages I see for this: Great phone when you need a phone Portable chromebox that is also my phone and doesn't require me to carry another device I realize you have a small portable chromebook but it is a seperate device that is useless unless it is plugged in unlike your phone. I also realize you have Chrome Flex but the terminals Egan has doesn't support it. Add to this Cameyo and I will be able to just carry a phone around and plug into any dock we have at our office and work on chrome native apps AND windows apps. And then can unplug slip it into my pocket and be on my way! We are a hybrid company and this would allow us to just buy a cheap dock and some monitors for everyone's home and office. And allow us to fully leverage chrome Having a chromebox/Phone device is FAR superior to Samsung Dex which just gave you a larger screen for you phone which is silly and not very useful. Apple doesn't have anything as nice as the ecosystem of chrome and cameyo. Who would want to buy and Apple phone only device when you can buy a Pixel phone/chromebox and never need to carry a laptop bag and always be able to access more productivity. Here is the USB-C Dock we buy: https://www.amazon.com/Anker-PowerExpand-Adapter-Delivery-Ethernet/dp/B0874M3KW4/ref=sr_1_4?crid=3KP5B5U0B1RWI&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.L6zs2y-UsYrJVQykqGeJE9AKJSTS1DpxxIco44-szbVtML69IYlJoePF6aq9JMQ85rc5FAk2kEQX71554_P0XLnaKR24LLw0k1b4rQVcP0YbGlCjeADG6RXHknA5o2L_0G9X9mMtXKZLmEYpP0BsIoAoIos-B4UuWYwZXvZt_b4j1efv7e1b4JKCA6rrQaOvGy7M0rxKlA-t1jESDnxs1vu7Rs_24W6QUIRL_FTIf64.S756NXkTiJ2MpH974d5c0j7vwmLCb6SN7OwCYH5M6I0&dib_tag=se&keywords=dock&qid=1718295253&sprefix=dock%2Caps%2C113&sr=8-44.3KViews2likes2CommentsEnhancing Android Enterprise OS Update Management
Hi, The way the Android API implements OS update management on Android Enterprise devices is not particularly useful for devices with user affinity. Are there any upcoming API changes for EMM solutions like Microsoft Intune? From my experience with the current API: AUTOMATIC – The OS update is installed as soon as it becomes available via OTA, which is not practical for real-time scenarios. WINDOWED – Similar to AUTOMATIC but with the limitation that OS updates can only be installed within a defined maintenance window. This means that if a user needs to update their device due to a software bug fixed in the latest OS version, they may not be able to do so immediately if the maintenance window is set outside working hours. Source: https://support.google.com/work/android/answer/13791272?hl=en#zippy=%2Cmanaging-system-updates-using-system-update-policies Suggested Improvements: Provide an option to control OS updates on BYOD (Work Profile only). I understand that when enrolling a device through Work Profile, only the work container can be managed via EMM. Google may need to reconsider this approach. It would be beneficial to have an approach similar to Apple’s, where EMM admins can manage OS updates (e.g., push specific updates, set deadlines, etc.) through DDM (Declarative Device Management - Source: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/deployment/depc30268577/web ), even on BYOD devices (Device Enrollment) — without requiring supervision like DO (Device Owner mode). I’m aware that Samsung Knox E-FOTA exists, but it is limited to Samsung devices. Expanding this capability to all Android devices (like Google Pixel devices) would greatly improve update management in enterprise environments. BR, Marco138Views2likes5Comments
