Short answer: No.
I even don't remember during my testing that the work profile pin resets the device pin but what could have happened is that the work profile has a password enforcement assigned which forces you to have a specified (minimum) password security for your device which forced you to reset the pin/password for your device.
If you don't remember what you have chosen, there's only one way to get it back to functional: factory reset.
