I’ll be away from the community for a few days
Hey everyone, Just a quick heads-up. I’ll be away from the community until the 13th October. I have barely been away from the community this year, so it will be a strange feeling, but nice to have a bit of a break. I will be catching up with some old friends to celebrate a special occasion in Singapore, a place I’ve never been before - so if you have any recommendations please do let me know. Apologies in advance if I'm a bit slow to reply or miss any of your messages. If there is anything that comes up during this time, you are in safe hand Emilie_B is here and I’m sure she would love to speak with you. Plus, I know you guys are awesome, so the community will be in good hands! Looking forward to catching up when I get back and I hope you have a good week. Thanks so much, LizzieLizzie11 days agoGoogle Community Manager40Views1like4CommentsCommunity Guide: How to add tags to your posts?
Hi there, With so many great conversations here in the Android Enterprise Community, tags are a great way of helping members find specific topics of interest. Exploring posts by a specific tag You’ll see all the tags on the main community homepage, right below the “Featured Conversations” section: When you click on one of these tags, a page will display all the Android Enterprise community conversations with that tag. Select the tabs to filter them into “most recent”, “most viewed” or “most likes”. This can come in handy if, for example, you want to know more about tags such as Zero-Touch or if you have a question specifically related to an EMM ie. Microsoft InTune. Searching via the ‘What are members’ saying section or via the deeper search You can also search and select tags in the ‘What members are saying’ section (located just below the ‘start a discussion’ button): You can search for any tags by just typing in the tag you’re interested in. Please note that the tags showing in the drop down are the most used ones but you can search for any tag. Finally, you can always research a tag or even a cue word via the search bar: The search bar can help you find previous discussions and allows you to expand your search beyond the tags. Adding a tag to your post Whenever you start a new community conversation, you will have the option to add one or multiple tags: Suggesting a new tag If you feel that there is a new tag we could add to the list, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me with your suggestions and we’ll examine those internally. If you have any questions at all on tags, you can send me a message and I'll be more than happy to help. Hello, It's fantastic to see you are interesting in joining our community. If you are still undecided on why you might want to join here are a few things to consider: Ability to subscribe to different areas of the community: never miss an update or post and hear what is going on in Android Enterprise (you can control in your Settings how often you would like to receive notifications) Have a question, an interesting discussion idea or a feature request: you can create a post and share it here in the community Support others: give kudos to others and share your opinion Lastly, the community is here for our customers and together we can create a great space for everyone to enjoy, learn and shape future products (and have a bit of fun a long the way). Sign me up? Here is a step-by-step guide on how to register in the community: 1. Click on the avatar in the top right corner of the screen Desktop: Mobile view: 2. Follow the prompt and sign in to your Google account (* if you do not have an existing Google account, you will need to create a one before registering in the community). As this is a professional environment, we would recommend using an account linked to your work email. 3. Complete the registration (this will only take a minute) As part of this you will be asked to create your community username. Tips for this: keep it nice and short so it is easy to remember, something like your first name followed by your last initial. If you are an admin, you will see you have two additional questions. If you know you Android Enterprise organization ID, please do add it, as it will help us to provide a better experience There you are, you should now be registered! Welcome aboard! 😀 Not sure where to start, take a look at this post. If you have any questions please do let me know. Hey everyone, As you may know we hosted our second community watchparty for the Made By Google 2025 event, thank you to those who came. If you missed the event, you can catch-up here, or read the blog articles directly. It would be great to hear which features/products you are most interested in - so feel free to share below. In addition to this, we’d love to hear about any future relevant events you’d like to have a community watch party for. Please do share your ideas below. Finally, we are looking at the way the community features work for events like this, we know the current setup isn’t as smooth as we’d like and although we can’t promise this straightaway, it would be great to get your wish list of how you’d like the event page to work better. Looking forward to your feedback and ideas! Thanks, Emilie & LizzieEmilie_B29 days agoGoogle Community Manager84Views0likes9CommentsEmail Notifications Update
Hey everyone, You might have noticed that the email notifications you receive when someone sends you a message or replies to one of your posts/comments have stopped coming into your inbox. In the meantime, the little notification indicator in your community header will still highlight your notifications. We will keep you updated as we work to resolve this issue and we are sorry you are experiencing this. Hi there and welcome to our community 👋 First of all, thank you for joining us. Our goal with the community is to create a space where you can collaborate with other members, support each other and discuss all things Android Enterprise. Here are a few handy tips on how you can follow to get your bearings: Getting started here in the Customer Community: our starting guide, which is an essential read ahead of posting! Community Guidelines: It’s important to know the dos and don’t dos so we can keep our community safe and inspiring. Let us know a bit more about you - our dedicated introduction post is a great way to get to know other members. We always find something interesting to chat about and connect. Upcoming events: we organise events regularly and they’re free to join. These events are a good opportunity to learn together and to spark conversations. Hello everyone, We're excited to announce a new addition to our community space 🥁: ChromeOS Customer Community! ChromeOS Customer Community will now sit alongside the Android Enterprise Customer Community, offering a dedicated area for ChromeOS discussions, product updates, and information sharing. Why has ChromeOS joined our community platform? Some of the key benefits (a lot based on discussions with community members) are: Shared stakeholders, greater efficiency: Several of you have mentioned that you use Android Enterprise and ChromeOS and so where relevant, we hope by bringing both communities onto a single community platform will help streamline your experience and that of your colleagues. Increasing product synergy: As ChromeOS and Android Enterprise products begin to work together more effectively over the coming years, having both product communities in close proximity allows for easier sharing of insights on integrated solutions, best practices that span both ecosystems and relevant updates. The ChromeOS customer community were looking for a new home and so we are very pleased to welcome them here! How does this work across the community? We hope this is quite intuitive: Switching between communities: Simply look for the product logo in the top left of your screen (on both desktop and mobile). Click the dropdown arrow next to the logo to see and select the community you wish to view. Dedicated community headers: Each community has its own homepage and header, providing access to different areas like discussions and product updates. Feel free to explore! Unified community profile: You'll have one single community profile, which will collectively display your activity and engagement across both communities. *Please note, we will soon be implementing a redirect for androidenterprise.community so this lands directly on the Android Enterprise community homepage. If ChromeOS isn't your primary focus, rest assured that this update will not impact your Android Enterprise Customer Community experience, so if this is you please continue to participate just in the one community. We'll continue to keep you informed about upcoming Android Enterprise developments and relevant information. Thank you for all your patience as we implemented this update. We'd love to hear your thoughts and encourage you to share any questions or comments you may have. We also performed some backend updates for this, so please let us know if you encounter anything not working as expected. Thanks again and we hope to speak with you soon. *Updated 14th July, 2025 - this update has now been completed - to read the update, please view here. Thanks for your patience with this. ------- Hey everyone, I hope you are doing well. We have an exciting development to share with you next week. As you might have guessed from the image above, we will be welcoming a new community on to our community platform. The new community will have it's own dedicated community area, discussion boards and content specifically relating to that product area. How will this impact the Android Enterprise Customer Community? You will notice very little change to the Android Enterprise Customer Community. The primary modification will involve a minor adjustment to the community header. We will be adding a new dropdown menu next to the Android logo - enabling swift navigation between the Android Enterprise Customer Community and the new community addition (for those who may want to toggle between the two). We will share more on this next week. Important: Read-Only Mode Information To ensure a smooth transition, the Android Enterprise Customer Community will enter read-only mode this coming weekend. We are aiming to complete most of this work over the weekend to minimise disruption. Starting Friday 11th July: ~3PM, UK (7:30PM IST / 4PM Europe / 10AM EST) the forum will switch to read-only mode. During this period, you will still have full access to browse all existing content, including posts, discussions, and resources. However, the ability to create new posts, reply to existing threads, or submit any new comments will be temporarily disabled (along with any email notifications). Logging into the community will still be possible during this time, so you can access areas that require a login (e.g.The CAFÉ). Aiming to come out of read-only mode Monday 14th July afternoon: ~2PM UK (6:30PM IST / 3PM Europe / 9AM EST) - fingers crossed all goes well 😀 As I mention, we will be sharing more details next week, but I hope this sounds exciting. If you have any questions about the downtime or if you can guess what community you think it might be, please share below. Thank you for your patience during this time. Thanks so much, Lizzie (and the whole Community Team) (FYI - Alex_Muc, Moombas, Michel, mattdermody, Rakib, jeremy, jasonbayton, jarmo_akkanen, Flo, BenMcc)Lizzie3 months agoGoogle Community Manager154Views6likes4CommentsAnd just like that, it’s been two weeks and I’m back!
Hey everyone, How have you all been? These past couple of weeks have flown by so fast - my time off feels like a fever dream 😂 I had a fantastic time, though! I walked a half marathon, for which I had been training for weeks - it was my third time. It is such a fun event and a great way to (re)discover my hometown. I played numerous games of Scrabble with my parents, which is a very nostalgic thing for us to do as my grandma was a big Scrabble buff and used to compete in tournaments. I’m nowhere near as excellent as she was but, practice makes perfect 😜 I also spent time with my friends, eating wonderful Belgian dishes such as vol-au-vent, tomatoes with grey shrimps and, of course, my body weight in frites (aka chips or fries) and chocolate! I also cuddled with my dog, Jax. I took the opportunity to give him his bi-annual bath and that was quite an experience as this boy is not a fan of water. Patience, peanut butter and relaxing classical music did the trick 🙏 Now, what have I missed? How are you enjoying the podcast? Who has signed up for the Android Talks on Device Trust? Also, I’ve seen a lot of you have helped resolve the G-board issue last week so, great work, team! It’s nice to be back in our community Chat soon, EmilieEmilie_B4 months agoGoogle Community Manager83Views2likes2CommentsLizzie away: 16-19 June 2025
Hey everyone, I hope you've had a lovely weekend. Just wanted to let you know that I will be away for a couple of days this week. I'm crossing my fingers and toes, but the UK weather is actually looking quite bright and sunny so I'm off for an ice-cream at the beach and to maybe get some surfing in if the surfing gods are with me! I'm leaving you in safe hands whilst I'm away, Emilie_B will be here, so if you need anything please do @ mention her or send her a DM. We have another busy week of content this week, so keep any eye out for that. If you missed it last week we celebrated our 2nd community birthday (it would be great to hear from you on that post) and also we shared Feature Drop (Android 16) 🎉 last week too. Plus, I love this new post by Alex_Muc with a tutorial on making Sushi - so your plans for the weekend are already sorted! 😀 In the meantime, I hope you have a great week and can't wait to hear about it once I'm back.
