Hello, With all communities and products the period just after it's goes live is a great time to catch any initial feedback including suggestions, bugs, not exactly smart UI... I've created this dedicated post to make it easier for you to reply and share anything you spot. If you want to have more of a focused conversation perhaps on a suggestion, feel free to start a new conversation in this area too. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and potential bugs 🙂 Thank you, LizzieLizzie3 years agoGoogle Community Manager14KViews1like40Comments[Community Feedback] About our latest watchparty
Hey everyone, As you may know we hosted our second community watchparty for the Made By Google 2025 event, thank you to those who came. If you missed the event, you can catch-up here, or read the blog articles directly. It would be great to hear which features/products you are most interested in - so feel free to share below. In addition to this, we’d love to hear about any future relevant events you’d like to have a community watch party for. Please do share your ideas below. Finally, we are looking at the way the community features work for events like this, we know the current setup isn’t as smooth as we’d like and although we can’t promise this straightaway, it would be great to get your wish list of how you’d like the event page to work better. Looking forward to your feedback and ideas! Thanks, Emilie & LizzieEmilie_B2 months agoGoogle Community Manager84Views0likes9CommentsBig news! Community Upgrade!
Hello everyone, I’m pleased to let you know that we have made an upgrade to the Android Enterprise Customer Community. Thank you for all your patience whilst we implemented this. While most of the upgrade is in the backend, if you are reading this message I’m sure you have already noticed an update to the look and layout of the community! 🙂 We've taken the opportunity to implement changes based on the valuable feedback many of you have provided over the past 18 months, since the launch of Customer Community, particularly around finding content and knowing where to post. What’s new? New community board layout: we’ve simplified the navigation and reduced the amount of boards. On the header you will see the main areas: News & info: this hasn’t changed too much, however this now contains the community information and guidelines. Discussions: is a central place to create topics and interact with other members. Share your feedback, questions and knowledge with using Android for work. Resources: this is a new hub for guides, tips and events. We’ve combined the blog boards together, so you have one key area to explore, as well as the events page. More visible tagging: finding the content you are interested in is a key area for the community. So you will see tags are far more prominent on posts and boards. You can also follow tags (as well as boards) you like (and you will be notified when a new post has been given this tag). You will find the follow buttons on each page across the community too. To check which board or tags you already follow click on the board or visit 'My Settings' in your community account. More community collaboration: we are lucky to have some fantastic and knowledgeable contributors here in the community who spend time helping each other and also create guides or interesting topic discussions. More visibility of the original author when a post is created and featured on the homepage In blogs: you will see that multiple people can co-author a blog article (an article often involves multiple contributors and so now this can be shown) I’d like to take this opportunity to give a special thanks to those active members who provided feedback and helped us to test this before pushing it live. Alex_Muc, Michel, Moombas, jeremy jasonbayton, mattdermody, Rakib, JordanOC, Rose (and to everyone who provided additional feedback across the community). As this is a large update, we expect there are still things that aren’t quite 100% settled and so you still may see a few things updating, but if you spot something not working as expected, please do let us know. It would be fantastic to hear what you think of the changes and if you have any other suggestions for the future. Thank you so much and exciting times ahead. Hello everyone, We're excited to announce a new addition to our community space 🥁: ChromeOS Customer Community! ChromeOS Customer Community will now sit alongside the Android Enterprise Customer Community, offering a dedicated area for ChromeOS discussions, product updates, and information sharing. Why has ChromeOS joined our community platform? Some of the key benefits (a lot based on discussions with community members) are: Shared stakeholders, greater efficiency: Several of you have mentioned that you use Android Enterprise and ChromeOS and so where relevant, we hope by bringing both communities onto a single community platform will help streamline your experience and that of your colleagues. Increasing product synergy: As ChromeOS and Android Enterprise products begin to work together more effectively over the coming years, having both product communities in close proximity allows for easier sharing of insights on integrated solutions, best practices that span both ecosystems and relevant updates. The ChromeOS customer community were looking for a new home and so we are very pleased to welcome them here! How does this work across the community? We hope this is quite intuitive: Switching between communities: Simply look for the product logo in the top left of your screen (on both desktop and mobile). Click the dropdown arrow next to the logo to see and select the community you wish to view. Dedicated community headers: Each community has its own homepage and header, providing access to different areas like discussions and product updates. Feel free to explore! Unified community profile: You'll have one single community profile, which will collectively display your activity and engagement across both communities. *Please note, we will soon be implementing a redirect for androidenterprise.community so this lands directly on the Android Enterprise community homepage. If ChromeOS isn't your primary focus, rest assured that this update will not impact your Android Enterprise Customer Community experience, so if this is you please continue to participate just in the one community. We'll continue to keep you informed about upcoming Android Enterprise developments and relevant information. Thank you for all your patience as we implemented this update. We'd love to hear your thoughts and encourage you to share any questions or comments you may have. We also performed some backend updates for this, so please let us know if you encounter anything not working as expected. Thanks again and we hope to speak with you soon. Hey everyone, Just a quick heads-up. I’ll be away from the community until the 13th October. I have barely been away from the community this year, so it will be a strange feeling, but nice to have a bit of a break. I will be catching up with some old friends to celebrate a special occasion in Singapore, a place I’ve never been before - so if you have any recommendations please do let me know. Apologies in advance if I'm a bit slow to reply or miss any of your messages. If there is anything that comes up during this time, you are in safe hand Emilie_B is here and I’m sure she would love to speak with you. Plus, I know you guys are awesome, so the community will be in good hands! Looking forward to catching up when I get back and I hope you have a good week. *Updated 14th July, 2025 - this update has now been completed - to read the update, please view here. Thanks for your patience with this. ------- Hey everyone, I hope you are doing well. We have an exciting development to share with you next week. As you might have guessed from the image above, we will be welcoming a new community on to our community platform. The new community will have it's own dedicated community area, discussion boards and content specifically relating to that product area. How will this impact the Android Enterprise Customer Community? You will notice very little change to the Android Enterprise Customer Community. The primary modification will involve a minor adjustment to the community header. We will be adding a new dropdown menu next to the Android logo - enabling swift navigation between the Android Enterprise Customer Community and the new community addition (for those who may want to toggle between the two). We will share more on this next week. Important: Read-Only Mode Information To ensure a smooth transition, the Android Enterprise Customer Community will enter read-only mode this coming weekend. We are aiming to complete most of this work over the weekend to minimise disruption. Starting Friday 11th July: ~3PM, UK (7:30PM IST / 4PM Europe / 10AM EST) the forum will switch to read-only mode. During this period, you will still have full access to browse all existing content, including posts, discussions, and resources. However, the ability to create new posts, reply to existing threads, or submit any new comments will be temporarily disabled (along with any email notifications). Logging into the community will still be possible during this time, so you can access areas that require a login (e.g.The CAFÉ). Aiming to come out of read-only mode Monday 14th July afternoon: ~2PM UK (6:30PM IST / 3PM Europe / 9AM EST) - fingers crossed all goes well 😀 As I mention, we will be sharing more details next week, but I hope this sounds exciting. If you have any questions about the downtime or if you can guess what community you think it might be, please share below. Thank you for your patience during this time. Thanks so much, Lizzie (and the whole Community Team) (FYI - Alex_Muc, Moombas, Michel, mattdermody, Rakib, jeremy, jasonbayton, jarmo_akkanen, Flo, BenMcc)Lizzie4 months agoGoogle Community Manager154Views6likes4CommentsEmail Notifications Update
Hey everyone, You might have noticed that the email notifications you receive when someone sends you a message or replies to one of your posts/comments have stopped coming into your inbox. In the meantime, the little notification indicator in your community header will still highlight your notifications. We will keep you updated as we work to resolve this issue and we are sorry you are experiencing this. Many thanks for your patience, EmilieEmilie_B3 months agoGoogle Community Manager91Views2likes2CommentsAnd just like that, it’s been two weeks and I’m back!
Hey everyone, How have you all been? These past couple of weeks have flown by so fast - my time off feels like a fever dream 😂 I had a fantastic time, though! I walked a half marathon, for which I had been training for weeks - it was my third time. It is such a fun event and a great way to (re)discover my hometown. I played numerous games of Scrabble with my parents, which is a very nostalgic thing for us to do as my grandma was a big Scrabble buff and used to compete in tournaments. I’m nowhere near as excellent as she was but, practice makes perfect 😜 I also spent time with my friends, eating wonderful Belgian dishes such as vol-au-vent, tomatoes with grey shrimps and, of course, my body weight in frites (aka chips or fries) and chocolate! I also cuddled with my dog, Jax. I took the opportunity to give him his bi-annual bath and that was quite an experience as this boy is not a fan of water. Patience, peanut butter and relaxing classical music did the trick 🙏 Now, what have I missed? How are you enjoying the podcast? Who has signed up for the Android Talks on Device Trust? Also, I’ve seen a lot of you have helped resolve the G-board issue last week so, great work, team! It’s nice to be back in our community Chat soon, EmilieEmilie_B5 months agoGoogle Community Manager83Views2likes2Comments[Community] Potential downtime in the Customer Community
Hello everyone, I hope you are having a good start to the week. Wednesday 23rd August: 12-4am (PST) / 8am-12pm (BST) / 12:30-4:30pm (IST) / 4-8pm (JST) I just wanted to let you know that we are carrying out some planned maintenance work on the Customer Community platform on Wednesday (23rd August). I've shared with you the maintenance window above, but we expect the community to only be inaccessible for a very brief period of time. We hope the impact on the community to be very small. Outside of this time, if you spot anything not behaving as expected or you have any questions on the above, please let me know.
