We have couple of users who have the Xiaomi Fold device and in the application report section of status report notifications we are only getting the android device policy app. None of the other applications are getting returned. Is this a known issue? How can we debug the issue? I was not able to see anything obvious in the device logs. We are getting the full application report for the other devices.266Views0likes7CommentsUpdating the Device Art Generator (Device Frame)
The Device art generator is a great tool for people who don’t want to install Android Studio just to take some framed screenshots for documentation use. There are third-party apps that can do this too (Snapmod), but I was wondering if the developers at Google could give the Device art generator some well-deserved love and update it to include Pixel 10 frames? Thanks. G-board removes additional languages post BYOD Enrollment?
We noticed a strange behaviour, If G-board has additional languages added apart from English like Polish or German, post enrolling into a work profile, the additional languages disappear from the keyboard. I was able to reproduce with Intune, WorkspaceOne and even TestDPC app. This is true even if no Device Restrictions are applied. It seems like a bug. Has anyone else seen this issue?13Views0likes0CommentsGmail does not show certificate selection dialog when "exchange_login_certificate_alias" is not specified in managed configuration
Hi, I am trying to configure Gmail to work with Exchange ActiveSync within a work profile via managed configuration according to the documentation - https://support.google.com/work/android/answer/7065453 The following parameters are specified: "exchange_host", "email_address", "exchange_username", "exchange_authentication_type" (allow_modern_authentication) The "exchange_login_certificate_alias" parameter is not set. I expect that the user will have to select a certificate via the system dialog. But as a result of such a configuration, the certificate selection dialog is not displayed to the user. The mail setup process is interrupted and the error message "Try again later, or contact your IT admin" is displayed However, if I specify any random value in the "exchange_login_certificate_alias" parameter, the certificate selection dialog is displayed. I would like to know whether this is expected behavior or a known issue? Hello everyone, Our team is always interested to hear your insights around the current employee experience on managed Android devices and profiles (Work Profile). One specific area of focus is the application installation experience, particularly for apps installs that happen while the device is in use (not part of initial setup). The installation experience can vary depending on a variety of factors - the device model and Android version, configuration of your EMM’s DPC client, management mode of the device (fully managed vs. Work Profile), the permissions required by the app, the source of installation, permission policies, etc. Based on your setup, it would be fantastic to hear some of your user experiences and what improvements you’d potentially like to see? I know this is an interesting topic for many of you, so I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts, feedback and having a good conversation. Massive thanks in advance, Lizzie482Views1like32CommentsGoogle Messages App: SMS to shortcode not able to send
Our Provider (Vodafone Germany) is using a SMS shortcode number to be able to order an upgrade on dataplans by sms. Once the monthly contract plan (e.g. 1 GB) have been used users will receive a sms from 70997 to inform that you can answer the SMS with "1" or "2" to restore your data connectivity. We ran into the issue that the Google Messages app seems to have some sort of bug with sending SMS to this kind of shortcode number as it alway says "Not sent" in red error text. Provider tech support told me that the Google messages app is prefixing the number with "49" resulting in a wrong / unknown number (4970997). They cannot fix that from their side as the issue is within Google messages app and asked me to install a 3rd party messages app.... *ugly* Is this something I can request to investigate from here? I will also create a case with Samsung tech support as we are mainly using Samsung devices as our corp. device fleet. Thank you! Has anyone able to purchase (paid) apps in the Managed Google Play store? I assume we still have the following limitation in 2025? "Managed Google Play no longer supports the ability to purchase app licenses. Your organization can still manage the app licenses it already owns. However, it won't be possible to purchase any additional licenses." Hello everyone, To enhance security on Android devices, Google has announced that developers of Android applications, including those distributed outside of the Google Play Store, will be required to complete developer verification in order for their apps to be installed on Android devices. This new policy is designed to combat the spread of malware and financial fraud by increasing developer accountability. Rollout starts in September 2026 for Brazil, Indonesia, Singapore, and Thailand. This requirement will be expanded globally in 2027 and beyond. We understand that enterprise organizations often use off-Play methods of distribution methods for private applications. As such: Applications installed on fully managed devices (DO) or within Work Profiles (BYOD and COPE) can continue to be installed, without developer verification, until September 2027. After this point, developer verification will be required for the app to be installed. Applications installed by EMM Device Policy Controllers (DPCs) will be exempt from requiring developer verification indefinitely. (For example, apps installed via Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub, Intune Company Portal, SOTI MobiControl, etc.) Private applications installed with Managed Google Play will be exempt from developer verification indefinitely. We would welcome your feedback on other application distribution methods used by your company and how this recent announcement will impact you. Thanks to the keen eye of jasonbayton for spotting this update in the documentation: https://developers.google.com/android/management/manage-custom-apps The lack of this feature has been a key reason I've avoided any AMAPI based EMM (looking at you Intune!) for fully managed device deployments. This is certainly a welcome enhancement to AMAPI and one that I'm honestly surprised Google delivered on. I think I can finally see the writing on the wall that Custom DPC will eventually now die given that AMAPI is finally catching up. I still need file system push and pull for it to truly be a replacement but this is a major step in the right direction. What are the community thoughts on the matter?75Views0likes1CommentNeed explaination of following feature implementation for AER -3.19. Application track management
