91 TopicsFYI - Chrome is dropping support for A8 and A9 in August 2025
138 will be the last version of Chrome that will support both A8 and A9 according to this recent announcement. https://support.google.com/chrome/thread/352616098/sunsetting-chrome-support-for-android-8-0-oreo-and-android-9-0-pie?hl=en There are very small populations of these devices left in the wild but I personally still support quite a number of them. The entire Atlas family from Zebra including the TC51, MC3300, and VC80x devices all max out on A8 with no higher upgrades available. This likely will lead to forced upgrades to those devices, especially given how many modern apps are hybrid web apps dependent on the WebView and/or Chrome (Chrome is the System WebView implementation on A8).84Views5likes1CommentHow do we see apps whose work profile consumes battery?
Hello, We have Android phones included in MDM. I want to see the apps that drain the battery. The personal profile shows the apps that drain the battery. The applications in the job profile are not showing up. Is there any way to view this in detail?81Views0likes3CommentsZero Touch Portal - Error Message
Hi Team, I have created a new configuration item and linked it to Microsoft Intune token. Then I have decided to remove the Intune token configuration before removing the configuration file from Zero touch (which I dont think it should matter). Then I went to remove the configuration item from Zero touch and was getting a strange error message, see below. Now I'm left with a configuration item in Zero touch that I can't remove. Can someone please help or reach out, that would be great. Also, let me know if there is anything else you require from my end.98Views0likes10CommentsInTune Android connection "unexpected error"
Trying to follow this doc. We want to use InTune to control our corporate owned Android devices. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/intune/intune-service/enrollment/connect-intune-android-enterprise At step 7, it has me click "Launch Google to connect now" and I just get "Unexpected error. Please wait for some time and try again." Tried multiple browsers, incognito, multiple accounts, etc. All same results. We have a licensed Google Workspace tenant with Enterprise Standard licenses. The account has access to all Google apps/services. My account is both an Azure Global Admin and a Google Workspace Super Admin/Owner. Sat on chat with Workspace/Android Enterprise support trying all the obvious things for 3 hours with no resolution. They finally gave up and just said "call Microsoft" which doesn't help, it's literally an error thrown by enterprise.google.com. How do I get past this error to configure the connection? Hi Team, Im having issues when trying to do a bulk device deregister. Getting an error message "Something went wrong - Try uploading your file again" and its not telling me what the issue is. My current file format is .CSV and the table is as follow: modemtype modemid manufacturer profiletype owner IMEI 123456789012345 Motorola ZERO_TOUCH 0 Can you tell me what I'm doing wrong? Thanks ----------------- I'm following the below instructions: https://support.google.com/work/android/answer/7514005#csv&zippy=%2Cdevice-configuration-csv-file-format%2Cdevices%2Capply-a-configuration-to-many-devices%2Cderegister-a-device Bulk deregister devices Deregistering multiple devices in bulk can be done using a device configuration CSV file. To do this: Create a device configuration CSV file including every device you wish to deregister. Replace the 'profileid' column in this CSV file with a column titled 'owner', and set the values in this column to 0. Re-upload the CSV to your portal.16Views0likes1CommentNeed Help with QR Enrollment for Multiple Devices in Educational Environment – Is External MDM Required?
Hi everyone, I'm managing a large number of Android tablets in an educational environment. I'm trying to enroll the devices using Android Enterprise with QR code enrollment, but I'm having trouble getting the QR method to appear. So far, only Zero-Touch shows as an option, but most of our devices were not purchased through Zero-Touch resellers, so we can't use that method. My main question is: Is it strictly necessary to use an external MDM (like Miradore, Intune, etc.) to generate the QR code, or is there a way to create and use it directly from the Google Admin console or natively through Android Enterprise? We want to deploy the tablets efficiently and avoid entering accounts manually. Ideally, each device would automatically enroll with our managed Google Play account by scanning a QR code after a factory reset. This is especially important in a school context, where we have many students and limited time for configuration. We are already registered in Google Workspace, and the tablets are in a dedicated organizational unit for students. The admin account is managed, and we are using the Android Enterprise platform linked to our domain. For reference, here are two YouTube videos showing the configuration steps I followed (which reflect our current setup): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jI-C_y1u8jE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h__pvfp559Q Any advice or clarification would be greatly appreciated. Especially if there’s a native way to enable QR enrollment without needing a full external MDM platform. Thanks in advance!76Views0likes3CommentsDoes anyone allow multiple users on their Androids?
I've got a use case for some multi-user Android tablets and I'm trying to figure out the best solution. I know Android allows you to create secondary users by default but it appears that Microsoft Intune is disabling this setting automatically. Doesn't seem to be a way to allow it given that the only options are block or not configured. I put in a ticket with Microsoft and I'm sure their answer will be to use Microsoft Entra Shared Mode and the Managed Home Screen but that doesn't work very well. Also, it appears multi-user functionality is documented by Google and an EMM can set it up so the user can create secondary users using the standard Android settings or the DPC can create the secondary user. Also looks like there's some work to be done as far as making sure the DPC can still manage the secondary users as well. https://developer.android.com/work/dpc/dedicated-devices/multiple-users So I am curious for those using other EMMs: do you allow secondary users on any of your Android devices?98Views0likes8CommentsAbility to block Chrome dinosaur game on Android
I'm looking for a way to block the dinosaur game in chrome on Android. I see the AllowDinosaurEasterEgg managed configuration but that is only for desktop Chrome. Are there any plans to implement this for Android? Is there another way to achieve this? This is a high priority request from our customer to the point where we see the only solution is to switch browsers. Thank YouSolved174Views1like10CommentsUsing paid apps in corporate environments
Hi all, I'm just wandering about using paid apps on work devices and wanted to know how others here are working with paid apps. Another brand I shall not name makes it possible to purchase apps via a portal and then deploy those apps to your end users. But Google / Managed Google play does not offer such a solution. It makes it difficult to deploy paid apps. While most apps offer license options outside the playstore, not all of them do. How do people on the community deploy paid apps that need to be purchased through the playstore? As said before, just wandering what solutions people use to better advise our customers in such cases. I don't get this question a lot, but every few weeks it pops up somewhere (mainly because we also provide services on the dark side hardware). I'm aware that this has been mentioned a few years ago on this community, but just seeing if this have evolved. Distributing Paid Apps | Android Enterprise Customer Community - 653 Thanks!
