Have a bit of an emergency where after the latest Gboard update, when users tap an input field, instead of Gboard just showing up as normal, a menu bubble is appearing instead where they have to tap it and select the "show on screen keyboard" option. I haven't been able to locate Google's release notes for Gboard to see if there was something that changed. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!138Views0likes14CommentsRestoring Data on a Fully Managed (Device Owner) Android Device During Enrollment
Hello everyone, I’m testing the setup (enrollment) of a Device Owner / Fully Managed Android device, and I’ve run into a question about restoring data. When setting up a personal Android device, you typically get the option to sign in with a Google account and restore apps/data from a backup. However, when I try this on my test device with the fully managed (Device Owner) enrollment flow, it goes straight into the MDM provisioning process. I don’t see the Google sign-in page or any option to restore data from my Google backup. My questions: Is this the expected behaviour for Device Owner (fully managed) setups? Are there any official guides or best practices for restoring user data in this scenario (if supported)? Thanks in advance for any guidance or documentation links!115Views0likes3CommentsUnable to install certificates for WiFi
Our MDM is using an internal app to install certificates that can be managed by our platform. The problem is when trying to set up corporate EAP-TLS networks, the device is unable to use the installed certificate for WiFi authentication. We see that identity certificates that can be installed programatically via DevicePolicyManager.installKeyPair(ComponentName admin, PrivateKey privKey, Certificate[] certs, String alias, boolean requestAccess) are installed under User Credentials settings section but for VPN and apps usage, not for WiFi, which is what the network configuration is expecting. Is there any other Android SDK API we can use in order to install the certificates for WiFi usage? Many thanks.141Views0likes1CommentIn-house app is not being distributed to a specific device
Hello, I am facing an error for a several months in the MC33ax from Zebra. I have an in-house app that was uploaded to Play Console, to be further linked to Microsoft Intune. The MDM is managing corporate devices by providing the app to many ones, as MC94, MC93 and MC33ax. However, everything works fine for 93 and 94, I can see the app in the Play Store, which is not happening to 33ax. In the Google Play Console, it seems that MC33ax is not part of the device catalog. Zebra support said something about reaching out GooglePlay Developer support to add the part number, and they said I should contact Android Enterprise. Is there someone able to provide assistance? Thank you in advance, Regards,169Views0likes10CommentsNeed Help with QR Enrollment for Multiple Devices in Educational Environment – Is External MDM Required?
Hi everyone, I'm managing a large number of Android tablets in an educational environment. I'm trying to enroll the devices using Android Enterprise with QR code enrollment, but I'm having trouble getting the QR method to appear. So far, only Zero-Touch shows as an option, but most of our devices were not purchased through Zero-Touch resellers, so we can't use that method. My main question is: Is it strictly necessary to use an external MDM (like Miradore, Intune, etc.) to generate the QR code, or is there a way to create and use it directly from the Google Admin console or natively through Android Enterprise? We want to deploy the tablets efficiently and avoid entering accounts manually. Ideally, each device would automatically enroll with our managed Google Play account by scanning a QR code after a factory reset. This is especially important in a school context, where we have many students and limited time for configuration. We are already registered in Google Workspace, and the tablets are in a dedicated organizational unit for students. The admin account is managed, and we are using the Android Enterprise platform linked to our domain. For reference, here are two YouTube videos showing the configuration steps I followed (which reflect our current setup): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jI-C_y1u8jE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h__pvfp559Q Any advice or clarification would be greatly appreciated. Especially if there’s a native way to enable QR enrollment without needing a full external MDM platform. Thanks in advance!111Views0likes3CommentsAssistance Required for Google Play Account Verification Delays
Good afternoon, We are experiencing significant delays in getting our Google Play account verification approved, which is critically impacting the launch timeline for our application. We have submitted the requested documentation multiple times, but we continue to receive feedback stating that the name and address on our documents do not match those listed in our Duns and Bradstreet profile. After thoroughly reviewing the provided documents and cross-checking them against our Duns and Bradstreet information, we have found no discrepancies. Despite resubmitting the documents twice—each time including links to our official company listing in our country—the issue remains unresolved. We are now approaching three weeks without any clear guidance or resolution, despite Google’s stated turnaround time of up to two days. We have attempted to seek clarification through several support channels, including the contact request form, the Payments Profile Manager, and chat support, but the responses have been slow and unhelpful in resolving the core issue. The continued delays are pushing our app launch further back, which is having a severe impact on our business. Any help or guidance will be greatly appreciated!830Views0likes4CommentsThe customer reported to us a problem with contact SMS which is not displayed on the personal side (only the numbers are displayed but not the names of the contacts)
The customer reported an issue to us: on the personal part of his phones, business contacts are no longer displayed across his entire fleet when users receive SMS from business and personal contacts (only numbers appear, without contact names). By default, Samsung phones use the rich Google Messages application, as well as Textra, which are both impacted. This issue does not occur with Samsung's SMS application. We have tested on our side (Orange), and business contacts and numbers are displayed on the personal part. We have also tested with the customer, but it works randomly. Please take the necessary action.Solved4.2KViews0likes36CommentsZeroTouch Portal Change Customer Name
